overall good show, but the waiting time from when then opening bands played till sean kingston came on (over an hour) was pitiful. the music they played during that hour was not great, some music with lyrics wouldve been much better.
Well I'd like to say after standing in line almost 2 hours, they didn't let us in til around 7:30pm, then we get in...and we wait some more....then they have a guest play...he was good i enjoyed him...then another guest...Daicko?....he was awesome....then after another long over an hour wait....came Sean...well he put on a performance to remember but it was short...after all the waiting you'd think we'd get a little more. Dont' get me wrong I love SK..but it was a whole lot of waiting and not enough "concert"!
7pm at first there was a DJ for almost an hour and then there was one new raper which was worse for half-hour and then another new singer which again almost couldnt sing and after that there was almost no music for about an hour and people start getting mad it continued till 10:45 sean kingston came on stage till 10:30 and concert was finished .
A group of us took our daughters who were very excited to see Sean Kingston but the event was a complete bust - unless you call sitting around for over an hour for a singer who couldn't care less about his fans entertaining. Following the two opening acts which both did two or three songs there was then an hour and 15 minute break of absolutely nothing. It turns out Seany wasn't in the house. People were asking for their money back, booing and yelling "Sean Kingston sucks" - which gives you an idea of how much the audience was enjoying the show. His band came on stage to calm the audience and h=just stood around with their instruments. Even when he did start performing it was mediocre at best and my son's garage band are better musicians with most of the music and singing on tape. As the guy next to me said - I didn't come here to watch Karioke. Kingston did a short set and tried to defend his one hit wonder status. He even walked off the stage for a while and left his DJ playing for the audience. Incredibly poor performance all around and I'm surprised more people didn't get up and leave. I wish there was a rating below one star!
Sean Kingston was awsome although he was late an hour or so for unspecified reasons he was great. His amazing songs made everyone raise their hands in the air and jump up and down. His DJ was the best eva.......................... and so was his band they all produced the best music eva.....
He barely sang any of his 5 songs that his CD was playing in the background and the lip syncing wasn't even to the music....It was pretty bad....
the doors opened up late...like usual. The first bands sound was horrible... the "deadtime" in between acts was almost an hour long... but the sound for Sean Kingston and his band was GREAT! The only thing that I woiuld have hoped for was to hear Sean Kingston sing for longer than 1/2 hr. I understand he is still new and only has a few songs yet...so I am expecting the next time I go see him it will be a longer show.
Sean Kingston was Fantastic except the sound needed to be fixed because his mic was acting up when he was singing but the overall perfomance was FANTASTIC!!
I took 5-14yr old boys to the concert. They had a great time and danced most of the songs. Will probably get his CD just to listen to his music more clearly. The speaker system could have been a bit better.Over all had alot of fun!
Sean Kingston was a fair performer. When he did perform....it only took three hours for him to get out on stage while they stalled with dismal DJ's. Overall, not the best show ever. Definitely disappointed in the amateur way the concert was carried out. Positive, I was surprised by the singing talent Sean Kingston actually has.
When it said doors at 8 and show at 8:30pm, didn't have a clue Sean Kingston wouldn't come on till 11:15 and only play for about 1 hour.
Personally I am a fan of Sean Kingston but to be honest by the time he got on stage it had been to dragged out. I know to expect opening acts but it dragged on and on, "are you ready for Sean Kingston?" shouted the crew and then you would get some no body that dragged it out even further. It is a great atmosphere but don't write on the tickets starts 830pm when he doesn't come on stage til midnight.
Sean Kingston was really good and I would recommend going. However, Raw Illest was the reason I went to the concert. They are a group from Calgary, Alberta and I think you should check them out on myspace.
All in all, the performance itself was good. It was short, though. And the crowd wasn't what I was anticipating, so I was a bit surprised.
I loved it. I took my 11 yr. old son because we are both fans. Sean sounded just like his recordings. The music just flows out of Sean. His band was superb! We stood through the whole concert & our feet were moving to the music steady. One complaint - the concert ended much too soon. Some of us hung back, hooting for more but Sean was gone. Too bad Saskatoon Star Phoenix didn't do any reviews or make any mention of Sean's excellent concert.

Sean Kingston was only on for 5 songs and seemed very rushed. It was very forgettable and we would not pay to see him again. The opening band however was great.
First off, I'm glad I only paid $35 for my ticket. Any more, and I would have been very upset. To start things off, Sean ended up in being 1 hour late for his own performance, thus forcing everone to stand in line for an hour just to get in. Then after everyone was in the room, we stood for another 45 minutes while Sean's band set up the equipment. When the show finally began, a Rap group performed. I personally didn't enjoy them (I have a friend that is a Rapper and in my personal opinion, he would definately show them up!) Then Sean finally came on stage. His performance was great, but he ended up in only doing 1 hours worth of performing. I love Sean Kingston, but this was a big let-down.
