  • Shriner's Circus... Is that it?

    by Momof2Tots on 2009-07-21CAMBRIDGE MALL - CAMBRIDGERating: 2 out of 5

If this is your first time going to a circus, you may find the Shriner's Circus entertaining. I, however, have seen a three-ring circus, so I found that there just wasn't enough happening to truly captivate my attention, nor the attention of my two toddlers for that matter. This circus is basically the same talented people over and over again, check their website, where the individual performers named are from the larger families/groups. I realize that it isn't everyone's dream these days to run away with the circus, but it would be nice to have minimal people recycled throughout the acts. And more animals, please. There are only horses, dogs and elephants, absolutely no wild cats, unless you consider the act put on by the chinese acrobats in lion costumes, which is an impressive act, but not real lions. The horse act was very boring, although it was my eldest son's favourite act... The horses ran in a circle and didn't do much else. To finalize my point of view on this... Been there, done that, probably won't do it again unless I have free tickets.

  • Have to experience the circus atleast once

We took out 4 year old daughter who had been bugging us to see the circus. She loved it. However I do not recommend it for children under 4 unless they have a good attention span. Alot smaller than I thought , line up outside was crazy but it seemed to move ok and we had no incidences but I heard people were budding in line as it is first come first serve. Also it does get a little stinky in there, thank goodness we had a cool day otherwise I don't think i could handle it. The show was a little long for her (2.5 hrs) plus she had to go to the washroom and well I do not like porta-potties so we left after the intermission and she was happy.

The show was overall a good show. The performers were excellent in their individual areas, execpt with a few minor flaws. Some of the performances were amazing though. Like the act of the Lee Brothers, The guy doing the stunts 50 feet above ground, the animals performing their routines- the horses were amazing. I was a bit disappointed with the organisers the way they handled the crow before we into the show area.Everything was going fine until they asked the crow to move from their lines and form new ones. This was a disaster. It was good entertainment for the kids.

It was filled with excitement and the acts were a lot of fun. The children loved the shows and especially the clowns. A must go to event if you have kids.

My wife and I saw the ad for the Circus and couldn't resist taking a trip back in time to enjoy the thrills of the "big top". We had a great time and watched so many families enjoying this great "arena" of entertainment.

  • Overall worth the money...

by CableGuy on 2009-07-16Niagara Falls Memorial Arena - Niagara FallsRating: 4 out of 5

The family was in Niagara Falls while the Shrine Circus was in town so we decided to take in the show. Since we got the tickets for $10 plus the service charges we weren't really expecting much, but the the show was actually quite good. I think the Son acrobats were the highlight of the show (which was almost 3 hours long). There were a few negative points, but they actually had little to do with the show. We had a hard time finding parking around the arena in Niagara Falls and when we did get to the gate, there were protesters complaining about cruelty to the animals used in the show. Once we got inside, we were unlucky enough to have a rude little girl continually kick the back of our seats. Other than that the show was enjoyable... just don't expect Cirque du Soleil.

My 7 year old daughter and I had a great time. Amazing Chinese acrobats and the arabian horses (with wings and one done up as a unicorn) were wonderful! We had never been to the circus and it was definetly worth it - I recommend to pick up discount coupons at local stores or online. The elephants were huge and a big hit with the kids. The clowns were hillarious - the show is truly not just for kids - adults had a great time too!

It was realy good we had to leave early it was a little to long for my 3 year. IT started at 4, break at 5:20 and then we left at 6:15. I don't think we missed much as the next one started at 7. But for a 3 year old she was ready to leave and get something to eat for supper. Over all I would go back again,

  • Shrine Circus - fun but HOT!

by GreenBabyClothingCompany on 2009-07-15CAMBRIDGE MALL - CAMBRIDGERating: 4 out of 5

I took my 9 year old and 18 month old - we had a lot of fun but it was a hot day and there was very little ventalation in the tent. Word of advice if you are going on a warm day invest in some of those mini fans and dress lightly. Otherwise the show was good!! :)

  • Shrine Circus is jam packed with entertainment!

by cfish on 2009-07-15Niagara Falls Memorial Arena - Niagara FallsRating: 4 out of 5

The circus has changed somewhat from when I was a child, less animal entertainers and more spectacular human entertainers. It's worth every penny of the ticket price. And it makes you feel good that your money's going towards a good cause, the Shriners and their work with children. My husband and I brought our 4 year old son. He sat very intently and was truly entertained. We had gone to the evening show, which in future, probably isn't the best choice for such a small child. But there was so much entertainment jam packed into the 1st hour and 15 minutes that we left during intermission ( to put the little guy to bed ), not feeling shorted at all.

  • Shrine Circus~entertaining for all ages!

by Nelson on 2009-07-14Niagara Falls Memorial Arena - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

Our two year old was just as amazed by the jugglers as his papa was. The high flying acts kept us on the edge of our seats! The elephants, horses and poodles were fun to watch! We can't wait until next year!

It was excellent a lot of family fun and great value for the price. My son loved the animals and acts and we thought it would be this a short little show and it was a full circus that lasted 2 hours.
