  • Silversun Pickups were unbelievably awesome!

    by Nance21 on 2009-08-13The Garrick Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

The Garrick Centre may have felt like a sauna and I also may have almost passed out during the set change from Cage the Elephant to Manchester Orchestra, but it was all worth it. All three bands were incredible; Silversun Pickups being my favourite of the three. Calling this performace amazing or glorious would be an understatement. I wish I could experience that concert over and over again!

  • SSPU Live was FANTASTIC!

by Chewys on 2009-08-13The Garrick Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

The moment SSPU arrived on stage the crowd went wild. Some bands are great recording artists but they can't carry their own act live, but not these guys. The sound, playing and execution was perfect! I am so glad I could make it to see them live! Brian has a great stage presence, he is a great guitar player and was great with the crowd. The entire band was tight and executed perfect playing. The band did a spectacular job! Give these guys a listen and see them live! They will not disappoint!

  • Cage the Elephant - fan-friggin-fantastic!

by Ruthless on 2009-08-13The Garrick Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

Cage has so much energy and their lyrics are so relevant... this band is going to be around for a long time - I look forward to watching them grow! Silversun put on a great show too - lots of audience interaction in the encore and I just love Brian's unique voice - so diverse.

  • Awesome Live show !

    by Manx07 on 2009-08-13The Garrick Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

You will not be dissappointed. I have listened to them for several years and was ecstatic to find out they were touring and with two great up and coming alt rock bands. Silversun's Carnavas is probably one of the best albums I have heard in 20 years and their new one is great as well. They put on a fanstastic, highly charged show that kept the place rocking. They seemed to have genuine interest in the city and talked about some of the places they were able to visit and interacted with the audience. No big California egos here, just a great band that loves to play great music

Right from the start you knew that this was going to be an unforgettable night for Winnipegers. Cage the Elephant and Manchester Orchastra were simply dynamite opening bands for Silversun. I did not know too much of these bands prior to the show, and to me they were showstoppers that melted their intense beats and intense vocals with simple energy that makes you feel the music. Bravo! Silversun... what to say if you like this band you really love them. to see them live was just unbelieveable. The garrick was a great place for the show to have excellent accoustics, smaller crowd and standing room floor. playing a great mix of music from their albums gave the show a non-stop rhythm to the flow and their stage presence was outstanding. Brian Aubert came with the intensity that you knew Silversun would bring, high, hard and heavy. Nikki Monninger paints a beautiful picture on stage with her shy smiles but rivited bass tracks. Joe Lester kept the keyboards in solid motion throughout the show. The one thing on this concert that i will say was the most awe inspiring was the drummer Chris Guanlao, wow.... i mean WOW, to hear their music on CD, to hear them live.... to watch this guy drum was just beyond impressive. Solid Performance man 4 real. Thank you Silversun for putting out a WOW performance and bringing your A game to Winnipeg, with a little voice left in me and a constant ringing in my ears today i know that Winnipeg fans brought their A game to you!
