Amazing line-up!!!! I hope they're able to bring big names back again. Very organized and clean. They had volunteers picking up garbage in the early morning at the campsite (Triangle) and on the festival grounds it seemed constantly, which was much appreciated. I hope they keep that for next year, it made the experience more enjoyable. There were many FREE water filling stations and lots and lots of food trucks. I liked the cashless payment system, it kept the lines for food and beer moving quickly. It would be great if the wristbands also acted as ID so I didn't have to bring 2 pieces with me. I liked how Triangle campsite was on grass; I heard other sites were on dirt and dusty. The shuttles from the campsite to the parking lot to the festival were a great idea; however, I didn't know their schedule. Also like how there were a few cops on site, allowing minor infractions, but it was good that were there just in case things got out of hand.

    The crowd ruined it.

by davers on 2014-08-18Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

I had a pretty poor experience in 2014. When you have Bruno Mars, Arcade Fire and Eminem headlining you are going to have issues because those acts have very little overlap in fans. Most people were clearly there to only see one or two things and didn't care about the rest of the festival. The crowd before Eminem was some of the worst I have ever seen at a festival, probably because it was a first time festival for most of them and they had no idea how to behave. It was fairly well organized, the food options were good and the production on the stages was pretty good too. The layout was horrible as it took about 15-20 minutes to get between the two biggest stages. With times like that most people didn't even bother, hence the small crowds on the second stage for a lot of shows. I've been to the festival every year, and this was by far the worst. I won't be back any time soon.

    EMINEM WAS PHENOMENAL!!!

by OceanPearl2014 on 2014-08-18Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

Eminem made the whole festival. Line ups were too long, security lacking...I seen people walk right past. The help was useless did not know any directions or know their venue, expensive parking that was over booked....I ended up parking further than my paid parking because my lot was full and the one we were directed to wouldn't let u park there until after a lengthy discussion. If Squamish Music event co-ordinators are open to suggestions, I strongly suggest putting up YOU ARE HERE - maps (Their staff knew nothing) because even though I don't drink or do drugs it was hard to find my bearings in the dark and after the loud music, to find where everything was such as parking!!! I know I was not the only one, I met a lot of people as lost as I was trying to find their parking lot.

More than basic, less than premiere

by ferguson on 2014-08-17Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

The campsite was a 20 something paradise - the only problem is that we are 40 somethings!! We would have appreciated a place just for us without the bells and whistlers of the premiere camping (which looked like a dust bowl and was way too close to the venue - we were glad we didn't pay the extra $600 for it). Something a bit more exclusive with bigger spots, less people and set quiet hours. All the older campers will thank you!!! However, big massive thank you to the volunteer who put us in the grassed site - we were very happy with that suggestion!!

    Eminem was Amazing!!

by KatrinaandJohnney on 2014-08-16Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

I had a fantastic time. This venue was beautiful! I would definantly go back again and again. Crowd control at the front was insane. the divider that was in the middle made it easier for people to get squashed. Had it not been there, there would have been more motion to escape and less area to get stuck in. My experience was, when we were getting squashed, we thought that the easiest way out was to get to the middle, but once we got close to it people were untrusting and didn't want to move, and when they finally did, we still found it hard and had to get security to help us out to where we lost our shoe in the process and found it to be more stressful than being in the pit. we made it out thanks to security along with other people as well.Other than that we had a great time.

Loved it, of course that is due to Arcade Fire who made just the best performance.

    Sucked

by misskimmie on 2014-08-15Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

Camping at the festival was awful. Dirty, overcrowded , for the price charged we expect more than a tent stall, dirt and more dirt as you try to get to the site. It was what I expected, so no surprise, it's just too bad they get away with such poor value at the back of desperate travellers .

Super Moon, Super tunes! Thanx Squamish!

by misskimmie on 2014-08-15Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

The best festival I've ever been too. So well managed! Very few line ups, fast friendly service. Squamish is magical, lots to do if your up to it in the mornings. Perhaps a "happy hour" next year. Way to go partiers!! We held it together, no news reports about stupid people over dosing, no fights. Pure Bliss!!!

    great festival

by Jwifeyrrrarrr on 2014-08-14Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

Upon arriving we knew we had made the right choice. Squamish was an amazing awe inspiring weekend. There was something going on at all times not to mention the incredible line u[p of artists Bruno Mars, Serena Ryder, Arctic Monkeys and of coarse on the last day of the festival Eminem. Just like the lineup the venue was explosive with things to do including free water stations, free froster zone for all your slushy needs, skull candy had an awesome plinko game fully equipt with cool prizes. We even met Jack links big foot handing out snacks throughout the festival...............any festival that has free snacks is cool with me!!!!!

Beautiful scenery and very organized event. I really liked the cashless component but there was one flaw to this idea - the need to request a refund of your leftover balance seems inconvenient - you only receive an automatic refund if you topped up online...those who topped up at the festival have to fill out an online form and request their remaining funds which can take up to 15 business days to receive. This defeats the purpose of having a convenient, cashless event. I loved the bands, the lineup was fabulous, however, not nearly enough time to see all the bands I liked. It seemed a bit overscheduled and a lot of the bands I wanted to see had conflicting play times.

    Epic

by Scottford on 2014-08-14Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

Basically if you want to listen to the radio after one event and say 'I've seen them' to 50% of the songs you hear, this was the event for you.

    All the Headliners were AMAZING!!

by Meeshee on 2014-08-14Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

Overall I thought the event was really well organized. Our 4 days of camping/festival attending went off without a hitch. The shuttles were reliable, however very busy. The lit bike path was an excellent option to avoid the shuttle lines. Lots of variety of food vendors available. Loved all the different stages/beer gardens. Was very pleased with the security/police presence during the event.

    Awesome!

by Waxer on 2014-08-14Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

What can I say? Eminem was unbelievable! It was an unforgettable performance! There were definitely some rude pushy people there but overall the crowd was great. The Arctic Monkeys were also very enjoyable. As far as the grounds go, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of outhouses available. The only negative was that it took 2 hours to get out of the parking area, but even that couldn't ruin the day!
