these guys were terrific, the harmony was incredible, it seemed as if we had just gotten there and it was over the 90 minutes flew by and we wanted to hear more. We would definitely go again and bring more friends with us
As part of our Valentine's Day celebration, my partner & I went to see the group Straight No Chaser. We did not know what to expect as we had never heard of this group or heard them perform until only recently.The group and their performance here in Saskatoon was far beyond our expectations. It was a truly enjoyable evening. Since they were traveling on to points in western Canada, I emailed friends in Calgary and Vancouver to take in this concert if they had a chance to. We wish the group Straight No Chaser every possible success in their career. Was really nice after the show to have all 10 members sign autographs. They signed the cd insert (on each of their respective pictures) , from "With a Twist" which we purchased there.
Their Youtube posting do not serve them justice. Like all great groups their live show was far superior. They even made Lady Gaga sound like she had talent.
Didn't find out about the show til the last minute. I know all the men in the Fireside singers wished they could've come see the show, but they rehearse on Tuesdays. Hopefully the next show can be a TCU Place show or at Lakeview Auditorium so we can fill the place. Those boys were stellar and I know a ton of people who wished they had gotten tickets. But I didn't hear anything about it until a week before when I happened to see the Broadway Theatre calendar. What a fluke. Anyway, the performance was amazing!! Look forward to having the boys back soon. :)
It was much more than I expected. I would go see them again. Venue was great also.
One of the most enjoyable concerts in a long time ... every song, every note sung so beautifully!! These guys really know how to entertain and truly have incredible instruments in their voices. The set list is great, no special effects ... just wonderful music spanning 4 decades. We can't wait 'til Straight No Chaser comes back to town!!
Saving their most impressive acts for the end, Straight No Chaser delivered a breathtaking performance. As one who was skeptical based on a minimal amount of non-Christmas music viewed online, I was pleasantly surprised. Straight No Chaser is much better in person and in video, and everyone that I saw this show with will attest to this fact. Highly recommended!
It is the best time I have ever had with ten men!. I am in awe of their talent and personality.

Straight No Chaser was a pleasure to listen to! It is not very often anymore that you get to hear pure talent without all the bells and whistles that come with it. The setting was intimate, they sang for over 1 1/2 hours and engaged with the audience. They have a remarkable beautiful tone and you can tell they have a great time performing. I would go and see them again in a heartbeat.
Every member of this group has a big personality. They all have wonderful voices, are charming and seemed to genuinely want to make a connection to the audience. If you are a fan of a capella, you will not regret seeing this group.
Just saw these folks in Winnipeg on Valentine's Day at the suggestion of my friend. I saw one of their YouTube viral videos but was curious how they'd do in a non-Christmas context. Nothing to be scared about, these guys put on an entertaining show covering genres from classics to hip-hop to gospel/soul. The mood the create in the crowd is like meeting an old friend from the get-go.
A pretty good show. Well received by the crowd. Venue was terrible. Run down, smelly, uncomfortable seats, poor sightlines for a small theatre and way too hot. Show worth seeing again - if it was in a better theatre. I booked specific seats and then got the tickets in the mail to find out it was General Admission - which was a pain.
WOW, WOW and more WOW. We were fortunate enough to be sitting in the second row and could see absolutely everything. That is raw, pure talent and there are not enough words to describe how incredible it was. 2 of my favorite songs, Don't Stop Believin' by Journey and How Deep is Your Love by the BeeGees. I couldn't stop watching the bass' (crazy amazing). tickets were very reasonably priced and my daighter was beyond thrilled when she was able to ralk with them and get them all to sign her shirt afterwards. When can we go again???
If you're a fan of incredibly talented vocalists, seeing SNC live is a no-brainer. Heard of them via Youtube and was not disappointed in the slightest. These guys can not only sing, but they can bust some moves as well. Incredibly tight rhythm vocal arrangements provide a foundation that the multi-part harmonies can go wild on. They played for an hour and a half ranging running the gamut from Michael Jackson to Jason Mraz to Lady Gaga and everything in between. Would see them again and take everyone I know in a heartbeat. But I would NOT see them again in the Garrick Theatre Venue. By far this was the classiest act ever appearing on that stage. This band will be playing Pantages or the Concert Hall next time anyway. The venue is old, carpet (or what's left of it was filthy, seats were ripped, all rush seating, no ventilation, and most likely a deathtrap if there was a fire). Sound and lights were fantastic. Also noticed $3 for the smallest bag of popcorn you've ever seen. Who are they kidding? Saw some dumped on the theater floor and man, that must have been $96 in popcorn wasted right there.
These outstanding musicians performed flawlessly as they won the hearts of every audience member with their unique vocal stylings. This is the once in a lifetime performance you see that makes you fall in love passionately with music all over again. Amazing.
How often can you say that the act you saw was even better live? Well Straight no Chaser was, their performance was very entertaining. Not only were the vocals out of this world, the coreography was fantastic and they were great at interacting with the crowd. Each song was an incredible performance. It was 2 days ago and I am still on a high, I would recommend this show to everyone. You will not be disappointed.
A wonderful evening of pitch perfect sounds. Straight No Chaser's tones are amazing as is their comedic relief. Glenn Gould Studio was the perfect venue for this group - great acoustics. We hope to see them again soon.
The ten amazingly talented, humourous and most entertaining singers that make up this 'a capella' group put on an energetic and fun show of music and choreography that had the audience tapping and clapping along. All ages enjoyed the show! I will be first in line buying tickets to their next appearance at any location within driving distance!
I have listened to the various lineups of this group since they were in College. We are about the same age and having sung in acapella groups myself I can truly appreciate the talent of this group. I think what is most important though is that they aren't your typical acapella group. My wife and I attended their second performance in Toronto, Canada and we both left the theatre raving about SNC's performance. My wife dislikes most acapella groups and she was not looking forward to attending. After she got home she e-mailed three of her friends that the next time SNC is in town she will insist they attend the show with us.
