    strawberry shortcake--classic treats

by lica2 on 2013-02-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Doodlebops were painful to sit through! Strawberry shortcake sang all of her classic songs. My daughter was happy but I did feel as though there could have been a stronger story line.

Doddlebops were hit,Strawberry Shrtcke not so much

by pooniarora on 2013-02-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

My 3 and a half yr old daughter enjoyed the doodlebops, and wished they came back at the end of the show. She was a little bored with Strawberry Shortcake performance. There was more enactment, less music and dance. They didnt involve the kids as much, so the kids lose their attention in the show.

It was a complete miss of the goal audience.

by lisenok on 2013-02-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The show was intended for girls 5 years old and under. Doodlebops part was appropriate, familiar, with catchy songs and not much talking. Decorations were scarce. Strawberry Shortcake show missed its goal audience whatsoever. The songs were not melodic enough. I understand the rock trend, but how is it suitable for kinds under 5? The story was lovely, dancing choreography was interesting, design of decorations was amazing, though quite minimalistic. BUT - there was lots of talk between the songs and the concepts were abstract. Again, not suitable for kids under 5. Kids around were visibly bored and annoyed. Some left in the middle of the show. My 4-year-old couldn't wait till it's over. My 8-year-old daughter refused to go, and she was right - there were no kids of her age in the audience. But interestingly enough this show would be much better suited for her rather anybody else. I enjoyed the show. My kids didn't.

    Poorly written & boring

by MissDana on 2013-02-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Just disappointing all around. The stage set up, plot, and overall production was boring and seemed lazily put together.

    needs more singing

by aligator on 2013-02-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Started great and the kids were paying attention and enjoying the music. To our surprise when you can tell the kid finally are finally listening they announced intermission. I overheard ladies making the same comment in the bathroom. The first part was entertaining the second the berries did too much talking and the kids got didstracted you could here the audience talking more and more and not paying attention. I was bored and so was my daughter. Wished there was more singing more colurful props and more engaging.

Strawberry Shortcake was an amazing adve

by Strawberry1 on 2013-02-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Was a great show, everything was priced reasonable and executed nicely. Maybe the performance could have used a few more props/decor on the stage, but it truly was a great experience. Sony Centre is much more kid friendly then the ACC

    Just ok

by JosieStar on 2013-02-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

My 5 year old had fun but was disappointed with the Doodlebops.....for one, they were not the real ones, and second, there was no set and they only sang a few songs. As for Strawberry Shortcake, it wasn't very exciting and it did not hold the audience's attention - people were talking and making noise throughout the show.

The Doodlebops were great for my daughter's age group (3 1/2), however, they only played 4 songs as the opening act. The Strawberry Shortcake show theme was too mature for my daughter and was quite slow moving (although she loves the cartoon). We left early at my daughters request and I overheard several kids around me asking their parents if the show was almost over.

Very poorly done. Not worth the money. Children never sit still, but it was particularly true with this show. All the kids in the place were restless- this show just didn't captivate or engage anyone!

    Strawberry shortcake and friends rocked!

by Strawberrylover on 2013-02-01The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Show was great, my girls loved it. Was the best children's performance we have been to yet and we have seen many. Costumes were spot on and actors were incredible. Only recommendation would be to have a meet & greet after the show for a pic, my girls were dying for a hello and a picture!

    Boring

by GOGO on 2013-01-28The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

This was the poorest offering I have taken my grandaughters to. I only took the youngest, who is 5 and loves Strawberry Shortcake. The Doodlebops were absolutely TERRIBLE, a huge stage with nothing but white curtains behind them, they were totally lost and with no visual interest the children were not engaged, heard others around me asking when their spot would be over, and it was mercifully short. Then Strawberry Shortcake and Friends came out, and although it was better set decoration than the blank stage of The Doodlebops, it didn't have much whimsey to it. Very few children clapped along or danced, my grandaughter watched it but didn't seem to have a lot of attachment to the characters. I did not feel this offered value for the $$, as usual the "souveigner" offerings were cheaply made and overpriced. Save your money and buy a couple of Strawberry Shortcake DVDs, they are a lot better.

    Strawbery Shortcake was dull!

by Cwgu on 2013-01-28The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

My 6 year old girl did enjoy the show. Although I think she enjoyed other shows better. My 3 year old boy and us the parents were quite bored with it. I think it would have been better if the characters were mascots instead of just wearing costumes. I feel that it would have been easier for the kids to relate to them if that were the case. I think the story dragged a little too much.
