The project of former Dropkick Murphy's singer Mike McColgan, Street Dogs have serious cred with punk fans, and their live shows live up to their reputation for hard-hitting, no-holds-barred showmanship. McColgan is an adrenaline-fueled force of nature in concert, whipping ticket buyers into a frenzy with his livewire energy and rowdy sing-alongs on anthemic cuts like "Fighter" and "Do or Die." The rest of the band is a well-oiled machine, bringing an air-tight musicianship and breakneck pace to their performances that keeps fans thrashing from start to finish. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

After two brief but bright years fronting legendary Boston punk outfit Dropkick Murphys, Mike McColgan left the group in 1998 to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter. He joined the Boston Fire Department and spent several years with the brigade, but the pull of music proved too strong, and in the early '00s he formed Street Dogs. The band recorded demos in 2002 and dropped their debut album Savin Hill in 2003, and the following year McColgan took a leave of absence from the fire department to focus on music full-time. The move paid off – the band's 2005 sophomore album Back to the World was a critical hit, leading to a stint on the Vans Warped Tour and outings on the road with major punk acts including Social Distortion, Bad Religion, and Millencolin. The band maintained a prolific recording and touring schedule for the rest of the decade, embarking on several Vans Warped Tours and sating their loyal fans with blistering albums like 2008's State of Grace and 2010's Street Dogs. Since then Street Dogs have continued to tour sporadically while also pursuing various side projects including the Americana band FM359, which features McColgan and two other Street Dogs members along with former Dropkick Murphys guitarist Rick Barton.
