Stuart McLean is an event everyone should see ...

by fuddd on 2010-12-06Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

... at least once in their lifetime. His wit, charm and engaging style is magnetic to the audience. His story-telling craftmanship is intriguing & heart-warming ... the characters he tells about are in everyone's past. A must-see ... particularly at Christmas time. Added treat is the musicians he always introduces to Canada ... Matt Andersen was outstanding as was Stuart's backup duo of pianist John Shearer & bassist ?? (sorry, forgot his name but not his mastery of his instrument)

Christmas Season begins with Stuart McLean

by SIMCalgary on 2010-12-06Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

It just isn't Christmas w/o attending the Stuart McLean Vinyl Cafe Christmas performance. The stories, the banter, the audience involvement and guest performers are all top notch. Our entire family and the other families that accompany us each year all enjoy the event a great deal. You really don't have to have read any of the books to thoroughly enjoy the show. It's a relaxing, spirited, festive evening that will be a family tradition for many years to come.

    Vinyl Cafe Christmas Concert 2010

by FSR1Kitty on 2010-12-06The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Stuart McLean is a master story teller. It was magic being part of the Vinyl Cafe Christmas Concert and the musical selections were excellent and captured the spirit of Canadian Talent as well as the Christmas Season. The venue was beautiful and everyone in the audience had a wonderful time. It was very interactive and exciting to hear two new Dave & Morley stories. I will remember this night for the rest of my life!!

    Stuart gets better every year

by JudyB on 2010-12-06Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Just what you would expect from Stuart McLean, master story-teller. The 7 in 11 was brilliant. It was entertaining for those of us who could fill in the blanks but even our first-time guests enjoyed the condensed versions of classic Stuart. The musical guests were the best ever. I hope Matt Anderson can be convinced to become a regular. His shiver-inducing version of O Holy Night last year will never be topped but Silent Night this year came close. And probably the only singer who can hold a candle to Matt is Jackie Richardson - more goosebumps. It was a fabulous night and the perfect way to start the Christmas season.

by pbrews on 2010-12-06Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

We have made the Stuart McLean Vinyl Cafe Christmas a holiday tradition with another couple. Again this year we laughed at the wonderful stories and quirky entertainment of Stewart McLean. The musical entertainment was again top notch! The music seem to reset the brain from the hustle and bustle that is the holiday season and help focus on the joy of Christmas. As long as the show keeps coming to town we will be their to enjoy it!

I have made the Vinyl Cafe Christmas concert an annual tradition for my family, and I am never disappointed. Highly recommended show for anyone who likes some good, wholesome fun and music, and at a reasonable cost. Matt Anderson was the highlight of the show this year and last -- what a voice!

Enjoyable, but could have been more "Christmassy"

by Anonymous on 2010-12-06Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I enjoy Stuart Maclean and his stories and we attend this event every year. Normally it is the beginning of my Christmas season, and I enjoy the whole mood. This year though, it was lacking it it's usual Christmas ambience and charm. I will still go next year, as I'm hoping this was just an anomoly.

Stuart McLean is always a wonderful experience.

by Banjo1 on 2010-12-05The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Stuart McLean is the quintessential storyteller. He is so genuine and his shows always reflect the tapestry of Canadian experience. He is one of us - a gem. As his voice carries us along on a story that we can visualize and relate to, we are reminded of our childhoods, our experiences, our common threads as Canadians and as people. The musical acts that join and fill out his program are always outstanding. It is just the best show of the season!

by jensy on 2010-11-30The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Stuart McLean is one of Canada's best story tellers & entertainers. He is amusing, warm hearted, real life good old fashioned entertainment with a musical twist. He is great for the whole family, I have good memories of all his shows and the books he has written & the tapes he had made. I am a loyal fan and will be to the end.
