Stuart McLean was his usual humorous and inspiring self , esp. in the first half. I loved his physical movements and sheer Joy he presented. I could have done without the 'rapid ""7 stories in 11 minutes" , but the rest made up for it. the musical guests were worth the price of admision . to see the great musical guests Jackie Richardson ((unexpected) and the phenominal Matt Anderson just highlited a great evening.
Excellent! I love the way Stuart appeals to all ages. It was a fun event - wonderful storytelling, and lots of laughter . Also, excellent music! Jackie Richardson and Matt Anderson are amazing! A great way to begin the holiday season.
A great way to start the Christmas Season!!! We are going to make this an annual event! Just loved it!!
i was disappointed that the show was not as good as last year. I did not like the exercise of whipping through as many stories as possible. I love stuart mcclean's stories and savour every part, to rush thru a summary of the crowd favorites was not a good idea. the music was excellent and the 2 stories stuart did tell were really good.
As usual, Stuart and Guests did a fabulous show. My friend and I always try to see him when he visits Vancouver. We had a delightful Sunday afternoon and loved the music as well as the stories. Very entertaining!!
Stuart was amazing as always. I was so glad that Matt Anderson was back with him. All the music was incredible and as usual the stories make you cry with laughter!
The Stewart McLean show that came to The Centre in Vancouver on November 28th was a perfect way to kick off the holiday season. His musical guests were amazingly talented. Stewart's show prior to intermission was very entertaining. The second half felt a bit rushed with the 7 stories in 11 minutes. It's disappointing to hear some of your favorites cut short. Overall though, a wonderful evening.
Our second Vinyl Cafe live show. We enjoyed it. Stuart never disappoints.
Awesome show!! Stuart McLean was absolutely brilliant! His guest musical stars were also excellent. Will attend next year for sure!
I've never seen any of his shows and wasn't sure what to expect. What I got was a thoroughly entertaining evening of storytelling and music. No gimmicks, just pure talent. Mr. McLean is a great storyteller. His stories are heartwarming and amusing. The musical talent is top notch. I will definitely go back next year.
Stuart never disappoints. This has become our Christmas Season Kick Off tradition. We always enjoy the musical artists he brings and this year was the same. We even left with one of Matt's CDs. This show will be enjoyed by the entire family from 7 years to 94 years! Stuart's stories warm the heart. They make you laugh but also sends the right message. Stuart is a big part of our Canadiana and reminds us what really is important in life, which is our relationships...family.
Amazing show with incredible talent. Stuart McLean made me feel like I was sitting in his living room listening to stories. Matt Andersen is a total super star (plus he's from New Brunswick). I just wish parents would leave their toddlers at home who can't fully enjoy the show and interrupt it for the rest of us.
So funny, witty and entertaining. I'll definitely go see him again.
Suart McLean is always a good story teller. He is also very comfortable on the stage talking. This comes through in his inter-action with the kids. I am looking to find his story about Eddie Wong's father's restaurant in smalltown BC. Where the chair legs are incrementally cut off. I heard him tell that sory on the radio once. Never heard it again. Can't find it in his books. Please tell me where to go to find this story.
An amazing start to the holiday season. Always entertaining, and the music was spectacular. Matt Anderson has a wonderful voice and great guitar playing. Bring him back on his own!! Looking forward to next year!
As always Stuart McLean doesn't disappoint. His funny, heart warming stories and engaging manner with the audience makes the time well spent. A fantastic time for everyone of all ages as who doesn't love a great story?
Stuart's storytelling was spellbinding and musical guests Jackie Richardson and Matt Anderson, and accompanying cello and grand piano were incredible too.
Stuart Mclean was great and his musical guests, Matt Anderson in particular, were outstanding.
He's amazing! So very funny and personable. Dave and Morley never sounded so good. Loved watching him as he's very animated while he talks. If you every want to get out of a funk and have a good laugh see him or listen to him on the radio!
