About

Tampe Impala on Tour

Tame Impala is Kevin Parker - the almost legendary messianic figure and creative soul who has developed the particular sonic universe of psychedelic pop cultivated with guitar pedals, delays, reverbs and liquid explosions of color. There's no one like him in the current music scene. We were left in 2015 with Currents, Tame Impala's third album which ventured further into the pop genre, and added dance beats and R&B that only served to underpin the enthronement of the Australian. For his fourth album, Tame Impala remained true to his usual impenetrability and stands silent, but we have seen him parade through a number of collaborations: he has shared the studio with Mark Ronson and SZA, he has produced Lady Gaga and Travis Scott, Rihanna covered him on her latest album, he has remixed Mick Jagger and Miguel and has released songs with A$AP, Rocky, Theophilus London and ZHU. So what does all this mean? Well, we know what Tame Impala has been until now, but we haven't a clue what will happen next. And that can only be a good thing.

    Good but...

by The Fifth on 2019-07-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Was a good show with amazing lights and effects but it was still lacking some grit. Can’t really put my finger on it, just felt a little too robotic of a set. Would have loved to hear more creativity/solos and for as much as the fill-in drummer played well, they were still missing Julien back there.

Good time, but could be better

by Ro on 2019-07-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

It was such a fun concert; the group (Tame Impala) was awesome and played really well, as if we were listening to it on Apple Music. One of the opening acts, Velvet Negroni, did not suit Tame Impala’s music vibe at all, and their overall acoustics and sounds were far too loud for the venue (I was sat far away on the lawn and their sounds were ringing in my ears uncomfortably). I definitely think the lawn seats were far too overbooked because people were packed on the lawn with many people stepping over and trampling others. I also think all food and beverage items were very overpriced at the venue (at least 3x markup), which made getting any items less tempting.

    Expensive for what it was

    by j. on 2019-07-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Love the band and the show rocked. Overall value for money was low. It would be nice to have a couple of beers without spending $40. Especially when the show has already cost $150. I guess that’s business though.

amazing as usual...mixture of so many styles new and old....crowd kinda sucked and it was too packed...they be better in larger venue, or smaller one with less people...when they were smaller at horseshoe tavern and first phoenix show was right size crowd, but ever since second phoenix show its too packed, even with expanding to kool haus...also i saw them at coachella in the bright open sun and the vibe was much better, but the effects of night work its own unique way...prob outdoor at night with proper large screens for effects would be perfect!!

    Soundscape magnificent!!

by KiddRiddance on 2013-03-11Kool Haus - Toronto

If you like what you hear on a tame impala album, prepare to be astonished by the colourful soundscapes produced by this band. The sound was immaculate, the lights were mesmerizing, and the overall tightness of the band was supernatural! Feel-good song after feel-good song. Thanks tame impala for an astounding performance.

I have major anxiety being in large crowds with drunk people but Tame Impala's music just captured, calmed and sent endorphins to my brain. I was able to just love and appreciate the music. Thanks guys!

Tame Impala and The Growl were freaking amazing!

by AllieClaire on 2013-03-11Kool Haus - Toronto

It was my first time seeing them live and they blew me away. The Growl was surprisingly awesome because I have never heard of them before. The lead singer's vocals were so strong! Tame Impala were just brilliant!

Tame Impala was amazing as usual however the all ages crowd was incredibly annoying, distracting, frustrating, and any other negative word you can think of. I've never seen so many 15-16 year olds at a live show other than Justin Bieber.

    Good but not long enough

by BrentHunt on 2013-03-11Kool Haus - Toronto

The set was incredible while they were playing, but only a little over an hour and had one encore. They have plenty more songs that could have been played.

    Amazing band!

by Capncaiss on 2013-03-11Kool Haus - Toronto

Tame impala has a unforgettable sound along with performance. Their first song was 'solitude is bliss' which has amazing lyrics & personally my favorite song! I loved it!

Tame Impala put on an amazing performance. It was even better than when I saw them two years ago, which is saying something because that show was great too! My only complaints are very high drink prices at Kool Haus, and a very poor layout for exiting the building (a single exit for 3500-4000 people). These weren't bad enough to a prevent me from going to Kool Haus for another concert, but put a damper on an otherwise unbeatable night.

    Tame Impala Tears It Up

by beefchimi on 2011-05-03The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

I will keep this very brief. Tame Impala will kick your ass, seriously. I love their music but was sort of expecting a somewhat slacker performance. To my surprise, their whole set was extremely good. That is an understatement. Tame tore it up.

The Tame Impalas were amazing, great to dance to, and far from being tame - highly recommended to anyone who can still move...
