ADOLESCENTS IN CONCERT:

Adolescents are still as fast, loud, and snotty as they were when they first hit the hardcore punk scene in 1980. At their live shows they tear through their distorted, attitude-filled songs with the same rebellious spirit that made them an underground phenomenon in the first place. Singer Tony Cadena keeps the punk rock spirit alive by jumping into the mosh pit to sing his angst-fueled anthems, blurring the lines between audience and performer. With 2014’s La Vendetta LP still fresh in fans’ minds, Adolescents will continue to serve up their trademark blend of pummeling rhythms, searing guitar solos, and catchy harmonies on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Former members from Social Distortion and Agent Orange formed punk supergroup Adolescents in 1980 amid the burgeoning Fullerton, CA hardcore scene. With singles like “Amoeba” on their self-titled 1981 debut the group created the blueprint for a mid-tempo pop-punk style that would become hugely influential on countless groups that followed. Though initially only an underground success, their debut album has gone on to become the second highest selling album in California hardcore punk history. Internal pressure and passionate personalities drove the band apart for five years in the mid-‘80s, but a refreshed roster returned with Brats in Battalions (1987) and Balboa Fun*Zone (1988) before tensions again split them apart. Since reuniting in 2001 the group has been recording and touring together, bringing their classic punk anthems and new material to the masses. In 2014 Adolescents released their seventh album La Vendetta, which was named the best punk album of the year by the OC Register.
