About

THE APACHE RELAY IN CONCERT:

Indie folk band The Apache Relay is making waves with their catchy combination of rootsy guitars, anthemic vocals, and wall of sound-style production techniques. At their boot-stomping live shows the band delivers rip-roaring songs like "Katie Queen of Tennessee" and "Don't Leave Me Now" with energy and passion to spare, and they've impressed ticket buyers around the country as an opening act for Mumford & Sons. Fans of forward-looking folk pop won't want to miss the Apache Relay as they continue to push the envelope with their cutting-edge sound and rousing performances on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Apache Relay was formed in 2008 by a group of Nashville university students who shared an interest in acoustic folk, Motown soul, and modern indie rock. The core lineup of Mike Harris (guitar), Brett Moore (mandolin, organ), and Kellen Wenrich (fiddle) was rounded out by the addition of singer/guitarist Michael Ford Jr., and in 2009 the group released their debut album 1988. The record's energetic indie folk sound quickly earned the band a following, and their popularity continued to grow thanks to their rollicking live shows. They released their sophomore album American Nomad in 2011, earning praise from critics and landing on tour with beloved indie folk group Mumford and Sons. After acclaimed performances at Bonnaroo and the Newport Folk Festival, the band returned to the studio to work on their third studio release. The result was a self-titled 2014 album that expanded their already-adventurous sound to new heights, eliciting more praise from critics and drawing the band out on the road for another highly anticipated tour.
