Backyardigans were quite good. My 4 year old loved to sing along with the songs. They were very energetic!

    Backyardigans were amazing!

by neemers on 2011-10-05Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

My grandchildren aged 2 and 5 just loved the show! My grandson who is 5 has waited forever to quote him to see them at the theatre!! Would definitley recommend the show to anyone with young children. I do have one complaint and that is the merchandise is way to high and you would probably sell more if it was more reasonably priced. Just saying. Regards,

    Backyrdigans - very ORDINARY quest

by Showbuster on 2011-10-04Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

My three year old did enjoy it (but than again, he enjoys home performance of hand puppet). I thought is was very mediocre, especially for paying over $100 for three of us. I do understand the age demographic the show is focused on, however, it could have had a bit more of the "WOW - factor". Bottom line is - I would pay $10 a person to see something of this caliber - not a penny more!

Wonderful way to spend an afternoon!

by MiningChick on 2011-10-04Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

My 3 1/2 year old loved this show. We had a wonderful time and she remained engaged throughout. The show was just the right length. However, did find that the vendor ran out of t-shirts in the bigger children's sizes rather quickly and by intermission there were only small shirts left. That was disappointing.

    Backyardigans was a blast!

by Aidansmom on 2011-10-04Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

This was the third time we have seen the Backyardigans LIVE and all three times my children have loved it. This time, my son was the one who got to go. He is three years old and he sat the entire time, very interested and excited about what was going on. The only negative I have about this performance is that it is the same performance as I took my now 8 year old to four years ago. A change in the theme would be fantastic so that we could go the next time the show comes around.

    The kids loved it!!!

by Karen123 on 2011-10-04Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

Excellent show. The songs were all the favorites from many different episodes. My kids (2 and 5) sang, danced and clapped to the music and left wanting more.

    the backyardigans were great!!

by lucielu11 on 2011-10-03Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

Took my three grandchildren to see the show. They range in age from 2 - 7. They all LOVED the show. One thing I would like to see is the prices reduced on the items they sell - they are too pricey to buy for 3 grandkids!

    Backyardigans....low budget!!

by gaelic1 on 2011-10-03Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

I took my 3 yr old to see the show and although she probably thought it was good I thought it was very low budget for the price of the tickets. They were a bunch of stuffies nodding and dancing around to a pre-recorded sound track. And the back stage crew came out a bunch of times to "change up" the set......really lame! It definitely wasn't sesame street that's for sure. And the price of the merchandise was outrageous! $15 for a tiny stuffed backyardigan that you can get at walmart for $7. They're making a mint on this one!

    Waste of money

by ShawnB on 2011-10-03Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

Very disappointing. The first scene begins with dark lights and the alien character shrieking, making dozens of little ones scream and cry, some of whom had to be carried out by parents. Can't believe I paid that much money for that - plus there wasn't much to the actual show.

My kid had a great time!

by Bluefoxfire on 2011-10-03Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

My husband & I were worried our nearly 2 year old wouldn't be able to sit through the show, but the loved it. He loved the traditional opening and closing sequences and the adventures in between when they changed backgrounds/scenery. He even yelled BYE!!!! when the cast finished their performance. It was so cute. One thing I would have liked to have seen was an area the kids could have danced in. I was recently in Vancouver and seen Bobs & Lolo. It was held at a venue that allowed for a dance area at the front of the stage that allows room for the kids to have fun. Unrelated to the Performance, the parking issues at the Pantage Theatre are ridiculous. We went early enough and got a spot at the parking lot directly behind the venue. We paid $2, and paid another $2 at intermission before our time ran out, only to find we already had a $31 parking fine and the tow truck was already starting to tow people. The meters are not clearly marked and we thought we were paying the correct meter. It cost me another $8 to continue parking there. I'm not from Winnipeg, it was not clearly marked and I will not be attending another event at the Pantage Theatre again!
