About

The Black Crowes are leaving the bullshit in the past. 15 years after their last album of original music, the Robinson Brothers present Happiness Bastards - their 10th studio album. Some may say the project has been several tumultuous years in the making, but we argue it's arriving at just the right time. Call it brotherly love or music destiny that brought them back together, the highly anticipated record consecrating the reunion of this legendary band just may be the thing that saves rock & roll. In a time where the art form is buried beneath the corporate sheen of its successors, The Black Crowes are biting back with the angst of words left unsaid penned on paper and electrified by guitar strings, revealing stripped, bare-boned rock & roll. No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at it's very best - gritty, loud, and in your face.

Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they've made a triumphant return to form with over 150 shows spanning 20 countries worldwide, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, the album that put them on the map. Upon their return from the road, they knew they needed something new to show for their lost time. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. And it's finally here - Happiness Bastards is out March 15, 2024.

Great show, first set unparalleled. Cross-section of songs and albums was excellent, along with the cover songs. They are great musicians, tight band, and having lots of fun. Chris Robinson is a great performer. Don't miss this show if it is coming to concert venue near you.

    Crappy seats, good show

by xcaptain on 2010-10-31Massey Hall - Toronto

Besides the fact that the show started right at 7:30 and that our view was semi-obstructed by railings and a pillar, I have to say Chris' voice was great and the band itself was sharp.

    best crowes concert so far

by lidima on 2010-10-29Massey Hall - Toronto

when I read that the concert would be 3 hours I didn't believe, but it was 3 hours (less a couple of minutes for intermission) and they were just amazing. they played old and new, jammed and just enjoyed themselves, which in turn treated us to an amazing concert. I truly hope that this isn't the last time we see the boys! only bad point was the rent-a-cop security guard in our section who was on a power trip

An evening with the BLACK CROWES • Massey Hall

by Knell on 2010-10-29Massey Hall - Toronto

Other than the camera ban and seats in the left gallery at Massey Hall having no view of the stage, the show was amazing! We were able to stand by the door and watch the whole performance. It was just like being the jam room of the band. Totally chill by times, into epic jams, and completely room shaking blues rock. The Black Crowes put on a great show! One of the tightest bands around. peace

    Black Crowes were amazing!!!

by louies on 2010-10-29Massey Hall - Toronto

I recommend checking these guys out. It's well worth the money. They are such a tight band. The first half is acoustic ; then they take a short break and proceed with an electric set. 3 hours in total. They played some of their hits and did lots of cool jams.

    And still music champions......

by crowed on 2010-10-29Massey Hall - Toronto

The Black Crowes are true to music with a vast variety always linked to the origins of Rhythm and Blues. Improvisations to their songs that take you on a musical journey showing true knowledge and experience. They make a point that southern rock is rock and roll and where the direction came from.

    Disinterested

by Sideshowgeorge on 2010-10-19Seneca Allegeny Casino - Salamanca, NY

I have to say I was a little disappointed. There seemed to be no middle ground in the audience. The fervent Crowe fans really did seem outnumbered by a lot of folks who apparently were content to sit on their hands and wait for the songs to come in nice, packaged 3 and a half minute FM radio chunks. But when the band was churning out solid musicianship in longer form, a lot of the crowd just didn’t get it. Combine that was an overzealous security bunch who were doing their best Fun Police impersonation and an evening that started out with some anticipation and musical magic, kind of slowly ground to a halt. The band seemed to pick up on that vibe and seemed less interested as the night went on. Sad to say this one, which clocked in about two hours, including the encore, ended more with a whimper than a bang. Maybe it's the venue...our second show there and neither of which have torn the roff off the sucker...maybe it's the crowd. I just don't know.

Must see, no doubt about it.

by Folsom on 2010-09-12Family Circle Magazine Stadium - Charleston

I have always heard the Black Crowes were awesome in concert and they lived up to that reputation. If you get a chance to see them, do it they are so worth it. They will always forever be one of the best concerts I have ever seen.

    Like birds of a feather

by kylow on 2009-11-20Casino Rama - Orillia

I've been a fan of the Black Crowes for many years but hadnt actually heard the album they were promoting while at the show. I had heard a few of the songs and recognized a few others but I did find it hard to sing along like I usually do at shows like this. However, not knowing the songs gave me a chance to really listen and watch the guys do theyre thing. Instead of singing along, I got the full performace and enjoyed every minute of it! Untill She Talks To Angels....I sang away with the guys and I loved the way it was done it was a fresh rendition to the already amazing song! The light show was an awesome touch to the amazing talent these guys have! If I see another show pop up in my area I will definatly be attending wearing my Black Crowes t-shirt purchased at the show :)

    Black Crowes Rocked

by killerkilt on 2009-11-18Showbox SoDo - Seattle

This was my first general admission concert and it was quite an experience. We got lost on the way down but made it about 5 minutes before the band came on stage. There was no opening act, they don't really need one. It was quite a large array of ages and people.

    90 MInutes with the Crowes??

by Dehboo on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - Orillia

Billed as "An Evening with The Black Crowes" I was (as many others were) pretty dissapointed with the miniscule 90min set list , especially after cutting my holiday short and driving 6hrs from Quebec. The songs they played were tight and that said the songs they played definately didn't dissapoint the obvious crowd full of casino junkie comp'd ticket holders. 95% OF THE CROWD SAT THROUGH THE SHOW AND COMPLAINED ABOUT PEOPLE WHO STOOD TO DANCE AND ENJOY THE GROOVES!! Can you, the rock & roll public imagine seeing one of the greatest live acts of our time (if you've seen you know) with a bunch of losers who just wanted to see them play Hard to Handle?! Bottom line, and Boys if you're reading... PLASE COME BACK TO MASSEY HALL!!!! Leave the casino shows for Don Rickles & Regis Philbin.

    Black Crowes was painful

    by Crowe11111111 on 2009-09-23Casino Rama - Orillia

They only played two hits all night and that was for the encore. 1.5 hours of dullness. Country, bluegrass and some rock. No stage presence. Overall not worth the time or money.

    Great gig!

by kidbrock on 2009-09-22Casino Rama - Orillia

The setlist comprised around 20 songs and I only knew about 4 of them, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. The new tracks are country/bluegrass and southern rock based - and man, these Crowes can play. I hadn't seen them perform in about 15 years but they are as tight as ever...just wish they'd have played more hits. As it was at a casino, many peple were comped tickets (it appeared) to fill seats...most of them left the show mid-set which was too bad. I felt awful for the band.

    Sadly disappointed

by Moondog on 2009-09-21Casino Rama - Orillia

We were so looking forward to seeing these guys to be sadly let down, they didn't address the audience at all and they didn't play most of their best hits, it was a complete waste of money and time. It wasn't a show, it was a jam session is all it was.

    Still rejoicing!!

by Charlene on 2009-09-18Casino Rama - Orillia

I know that with a new album, artists are EXPECTED to favour songs from it, but I WAS hoping for more of Southern Harmony and other old favourites. BUT I am no where near disappointed. Just because I'm stuck in the past, doesn't mean the artist should suffer, that's why I still gave five stars. It was still a fantastic performance. This is how music should be - stripped down, pure, from-the-heart, fun. The Black Crowes are truly a force to be reckoned with and deserve every accolade coming.
