About

The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

  • Dixie Chicks sound lacked

by HMOM on 2016-07-10Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

Dixie Chicks give a Great concert but the sound was royally messed! Natalie had Ana amazing voice but you could just not hear her clearly....also didn't like the fact they didn't come on stage till 8:45...would have been nice to see them a bit earlier. Openers were amazing! Overall Dixie Chicks still rock!

  • They rarely tour, so always an honour to see them

by joelkesh on 2016-07-10Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Always been a fan of the Dixie Chicks since their 2006 album Taking the Long Way and have seen them in concert many years ago. When I heard about the 2016 tour I knew it would be a good show as they rarely do these kinds of tours. As expected, it was a great show as they covered a wide range of songs from over many years. They always sound great live and was a good night of music. Being a Beyonce fan as well, was nice to see them cover her song "Daddys Lessons"

by DDJohnson on 2016-07-10Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

The energy wasn't the same from the three as it was the last time they came. It was as if NM had to be there to make some $$. The others were hanging in, they are so talented. The sound system was really bad. The surprise was Anderson East opening! He is absolutely fantastic.

  • Great Show

    by Mowich1 on 2016-07-10Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. We were on the floor, Good sight line to the stage. Great sound......looked like the video crew were having a glitch but got it fixed part way through the show...the crowd was in a good mood....a couple gals behind us were over the top and didn't last....good to see and hear The Dixie Chicks! Wish they moved to Canada where everyone has free speech.

The show was in Canada not the USA. The overall political message was geared towards US citizens. We felt disconnect to the message. Flat Ronnie? We had no idea what that was all about. I guess we are to old for this concert.

  • Dixie Chicks Rock!

    by frost63 on 2016-07-10Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Solid performance from the start and through the almost two and a half hours. Not necessary to have to two opening acts!

  • Dixie Chicks: They're back and even better!

by ConcertsForLife on 2016-06-27Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Talk about "Girl Power" (thanks Spice Girls). Last night The Dixie Chicks took it to another level. They were great 10 years ago, but they are even better now. What a fantastic performance. They (and their band) were at the top of their game. A memorable night for me. Shout out to Janice and Jade M. for making the evening even better. I took over 200 photos, and they turned out pretty good.

  • Dixie Chicks have style!

awesome concert !! just wish there were more colour choices for the merch !! the place was full of girls and they only had black and white. I would have bought something if there were more choices

The girls can still deliver but unfortunately the sound system at MAT is getting old and tired

  • Dixie Chicks Deliver the Goods!

by Spinnaker on 2016-06-24Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

A great show, well worth seeing. The Dixie Chicks brought everything I was expecting...talent, energy, a creative and fascinating stage set-up, newer material and lots of fan favourites.

  • Not-so-great sound quality

    by MusicFan18 on 2016-06-24Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

While he Dixie Chicks are always fun to see in concert, the sound quality was not very good for the Tuesday show. We were on the lawns, which I usually prefer, but this time time you could barley hear Natalie when she was talking. The music also sounded muffled. I'm not sure what was gong on, but I've heard better sound quality from the lawns before.

  • Dixie Chicks Slay!!

    by Lukesmom123 on 2016-06-20Darling's Waterfront Pavilion - BangorRating: 5 out of 5

The Dixie Chicks concert was amazing, not only do they play all your favorites, they did a tribute to Prince and also sing Beyoncé. The have serious skills and are real musicians. I travelled down from Canada for this concert and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!!

Great concert. I wish the chicks had done some story telling though.

  • Outstanding Performance

by Caperay on 2016-06-19Darling's Waterfront Pavilion - BangorRating: 5 out of 5

If you think the Chicks are passé, think again!!! This show was amazing. The presentation, the acoustic set, the production but most importantly, the vocals could not have been more perfect. These ladies are talented beyond measure and Natalie couldn't sing a bad note if she tried. The thousands and thousands of people were wild for the Dixie Chicks. Well done!!! It will not disappoint!!!

  • Best Day of My Life

by jlxgh on 2015-04-01Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I had been waiting to see the Dixie Chicks since I fell in love with their music at seven years old. Finally on October 26/13 I got to see them. It was unforgettable. Natalie Maines has been my rolemodel since I was little (7) and currently (18) and always will. Her voice is killer and all three of those amazing women rule the stage. And the encore for Not Ready To Make Nice was magical. We gave them at least a 3 minute standing ovation and they came back on.

  • The Dixie Chicks were terrific!

by Ravina on 2013-12-15MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

Exceptional concert....the Dixie Chicks were in total form. Loved every minute of this concert. Natalie Maines has such a fantastic voice.

  • Dixie Chicks were AMAZING!

by HappyRetiree on 2013-11-17Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best concert I have ever been to! They were amazing.....no frills just unequivocal singing and talent. They are just as talented as ever! If they ever come back I would definitely go to see them again! Hope that they start to record new material again. Their performance was definitely 5 star! I loved the way they opened the act.....just walked on to the stage with the band and started singing.....no frills....no unnecessary wardrobe changes, just amazing entertainment.

  • Natalie is amazing!

by ChickFan on 2013-11-14Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

I am a huge Dixie Chick fan and I thought it was great. Natalie was fantastic vocally, what a strong voice. The one on the violin is amazing! Love the music! I only wish they were coming out with new music. :(

  • Dixie Chicks were fabulous!

by Gertmck on 2013-11-14Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I loved every minute of it! I enjoyed the fact that they just got up on stage and sang their songs without all of the gimmicks. We were at the Brad Paisley concert and could have done without all of his gimmicks.
