About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

I had such a awesome night, Fray was good as usual. The guest bank called scars on 45 were a good band to listen to. Overall two thumbs up!!!

  • The Fray were FANTASTIC!

by Branvan on 2012-02-28Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The Orpheum is a great and intimate venue. The show was incredible. The band interacted with the crowd and Isaac came down of the stage quite often to go through the crowd and even visited those up in the balcony. I'm really glad that I saw Scars on 45 perform, they also put on a great show and I will for sure be purchasing their albums and I've recommended them to my friends to check out. Can't wait to see both these two bands again!

  • Fabulous!

The concert was excellent- from the opening act of Scars on 45 to the final song sung by The Fray! Isaac Slade's interaction with the crowd was amazing and unexpected. I have been to 4 concerts by The Fray and this one was, by far the best. Hearing more solos from Joe King would have made the performance even better!

Brilliant show by a fantastic band. I did not realize how talented they were - vocals were strong and the band was tight. I've never listed to their music before, but am now a fan. Strongly recommend seeing their live show.

  • The Frey was amazing!

    by Stat941 on 2012-02-28Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Lots of their songs sound the same but it didn't really matter. They perform so well and the lead singers voice is even better love then it is on the CD.

  • Unbelievable Show

    by Sare21 on 2012-01-20The Opera House - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This show blew me away. The band is AMAZING live. They played a lot of new songs which was great, as well as all the old favourites. The band invited the audience to come out for a drink at a local pub after the show and I had the chance to have a drink with them afterward, talk and get pictures with them all. Amazing guys, amazing music.... <3

  • Intimate

With the small venue of the Opera House the best part of the concert was the complete acoustic version of Happiness that Isaac did. Simply amazing.

I absolutely loved this concert. The venue was perfect, and the music was fantastic. I would highly recommend seeing a concert by The Fray.

  • Meh

by nesspra on 2010-03-09Jack Singer Concert Hall (ECPA) - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

i thought i would love this concert because i listened to the Fray's debut album non-stop. I would haveto say i was somewhat disappointed. You weren't allowed to use flash photography because it irritated the band. They only played for an hour tops. I have been to over a hundred concerts and i don't think i would go see them again. The bar closed as soon as the band came on. They came across as pompous.

  • Experience The Fray

Great venue, very personnel. Amazing entertainment value of show, performance was earth moving. They sounded better then the CD.

  • Great venue, great band!

This venue provided the perfect intimate atmosphere for a band like the Fray. The acoustics enriched the sound and you could barely tell that it wasn't a CD. Absolutely amazing.

I thought they were ok. However would have enjoyed it more if they had more songs out.

  • The Fray had an outstanding performance!

by PolskaGirl27 on 2010-02-22Jack Singer Concert Hall (ECPA) - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

The performance was definitley one that I will never forget! The music means so much, and seeing them live made it that much better. All I can say is that I just wanted to play their cd over and over once the concert was done.

Hadn't heard more than the band's singles and had decided to go to the concert on a whim. The band and the vocals were awesome! Isaac interacted with the crowd and performed like a true rock star despite losing his voice. Would definitely recommend the show!

They lacked any interaction with the crowd. It basically seemed like listening to the album word for word.

  • by KimBrz on 2010-02-21Jack Singer Concert Hall (ECPA) - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Great vocals, first rate! Great venue and so fun!!

  • Sound great, but lacking stage presence.

I'm a big fan of The Fray, I think their albums sound great, and their live show is no exception. I'm a little disappointed at the entertainment value they give though. Watching the show was a bit like watching them practice for a gig. Maybe they are a bit shy, and maybe some people dig that, but if I'm spending money to see a show, I don't wanna be ignored.
