About

Colorado alternative rockers The Fray have given fans of Counting Crows and U2 a new generation of melodic rock anthems to call their own. With the release of their third studio album Scars & Stories in 2012, the band took an edgier approach to their songwriting, scoring hits with singles like “Heartbeat” and “Run for Your Life.” Despite more aggressive lyrical content, the piano-driven songs still found a soft spot in fans’ hearts, earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. If Scars was successful, the band’s self-titled sophomore album was even more so, debuting at No. 1 upon its 2009 release and earning the band a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. Formed in the early 2000s by classmates from Denver’s Faith Christian Academy, The Fray’s 2005 debut How to Save a Life went double platinum, bringing them worldwide fame with the international success of its title track. On tour in 2013, the band has wowed ticket buyers with their impressive musicianship and emotionally genuine live concerts.

    THE FRAY WAS AMAZINGGGGGGG!!!!

by Melllllly on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Okay so, I waited in line from the morning (floor tickets) and I was hot, sweaty, exhausted, etc by the time I got in. The opening bands were good, meh, I wanted THE FRAY. Anyways, to say the least - all the waiting and back/feet aches were worth it when THE FRAY came out. They are amazing, beyond words. They were better live than on their CD, no comparison. A M A Z I N G.

    The Fray > Sliced Bread

by MikeA on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Awesome show from start to finish. Couldn't believe how great they were live. Makes me respect artists even more when they can perform even better than thier studio recorded and edited songs.

    The Fray was OK

by shebee on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

This was my first time seeing The Fray live. I really like their music, but I have to say I wasn't too impressed with the show. I have been to many concerts and, sad to say, I have to place this one near the bottom of the list. The band wasn't very lively on stage, perhaps it's because of their mellower tunes. It didn't seem like they were really into their performance. Although I was singing along to some songs, I could say I've been to much better concerts.

The Fray is a MUST SEE concert!

by Mele on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

I have loved The Fray ever since their first big hit came on the radio. I always wanted to see them but the last time they came i was unable to so this time i decided i was seeing them regardless. I bought 4 tickets for whoever wanted to come (they were very easy to sell to my friends, actually some even fought over them). The show was unbelievable! From beginning to end I could not sit down! I was amazed how much better they sound live then they do on their CD, I did not even think that was possible. They are a need to see in concert and i do not intend on missing anymore of their concerts whenever they come to Toronto!

    The Fray and Jacks.. amazing.

by marjieeee on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

The Fray were great. I didn't expect them to sound as good as their recorded music, however they lived up to their records. The guitarist did an awesome job on Ungodly Hour Jack's Mannequin was everything I hoped for and more. Andrew was amazing, so energetic and his voice was clear and amazing. I would go see Jack's Mannequin over and over and over again after this performance.

    Jack's Mannequin and the Fray

by Paulthereviewer on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Saw JM and the Fray at Molson Ampitheatre with a few friends. Turns out there is a benefit of buying tickets to Molson Ampitheatre - you get free admission to Ontario Place! We got the tickets for Jack's Mannequin, and they were very good as always. Wasn't as excited personally for the Fray (though they also played very well, and included some fun covers from other artists). Overall a good experience, though our seats were pretty far away (400's section - about as far as you can get without being on the lawn), though to be fair we only paid $20/ticket including service charges and floor tickets to this event ended up being about $70.

    The Fray was fun

by Seacm on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

I loved how the show was on time.... all three groups were great, and with the hard live sound, the emotion of each song really got to you. Vocals incredible, and the sound of the piano on behalf of The Fray, AWESOME!!! I loved the visual effects. Trully one of the best concerts in a while at the Molson!

    The Fray was UNREAL

by Maddsterr on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

First off, I looove Jacks Mannequin. Seriously good opening, and they are really making a name for themselves. As for the Fray, it was unreal. I saw them three years ago in a small venue in Toronto, and it's amazing to see how much they have grown! I will never forget the way the whole crowd sang to all their songs, and all the lighters and everything. It was magical and I love them sooo much. Leaving the concert everyone was blaring hte Fray in their cars which topped off a wonderful night.

    Great show!

by patelk on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Never a disappointment, however, they were better on their first tour, "How to Save a Life". Especially their hilarious cover of "Hips Don't Lie" and the more creative "Wonderwall/Look After You". I would have preferred to see them in a smaller venue as I have in the past. But they still did a fine job promoting the second album and did a great cover of Kanye's "Heartless", and had me humming it for the rest of the week.

    The Fray was absolutely unreal

by Cokes on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

We managed to get front row just to the left of the stage. The venue at the molson amphitheater is absolutely amazing. Never does the music sound "too loud" because there no enclosure to reverberate the sound. The show was phenomenal... Jacks was what I expected, but I had seen the Fray two years prior and I was blown away once again. Isaac has some serious god given talent. And the lightshow was impressive as well. I'll be back for their next tour, thats for sure. Unforgettable night.

Great show but needs less opening bands

by recordscratch on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

I saw the Fray at Molson Ampitheatre in 2007 and they were amazing. This time (June 2009), they were just as amazing...except with less actual performance time. There were two opening bands who played for at least an hour each. The first band was absolutely TERRIBLE. So terrible, that I left my seat to walk around. The second band, Jack's Mannequin, I believe, was not awful but not great either. Nevertheless, regardless of if they were good or bad, I would have preferred less of them and more of what I paid for (The Fray). What I DID get to see of them (just over an hour) was great. Great lights, sounds, and stage presence, as always. A band that just seems down to earth and continues to keep it real. I will recommend it to others.

    Never a let down!

by italia on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Second time around seeing The Fray and they still got it! I can't get over how amazing they are live, they sound the same if not better than the album! The only thing I felt was different was it seemed a bit short? But they managed to get most of the new album and then some old ones in, maybe I just wanted them to stay on forever! :) I would definitely come see them again and again!

    Fabulous Concert

by Dianne on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

This concert was terrific. I went with my 15 year old son, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The music was great; especially The Fray and Johnathon Swift (1st act). The Fray were very generous performers, and engaged with their audience.

The Fray was absolutely incredible live! Amazing vocals and the set was phenomenal. The lighting, the songs, everything. They even did a few of their older songs which were really awesome too.

    A Fun Fray

by GeorgeTown on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

The Fray with Jack's Mannequin was a very entertaining concert. It is so nice to listen to a piano as a main instrumental in a band. The songs sang by these bands are also very enjoyable to listen to, but sometimes the words were overtaken by the instrumentals. The light show was a welcome addition to the performance and made the concert even more entertaining. The Molson Amphitheatre is a great venue in relation to feeling close and being able to see the band. I would recommend this performance to anyone interested in a relaxing easy listening evening. By the way my children and spouse enjoyed the concert even more than I.
