About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

The Fray was absolutely amazing, they sound amazing live and they are great entertainers. We only saw a little of Jack's Mannequin but what we saw was really good and heard nothing but good things about them.

  • The Fray sounded just like on their cd!

by rebhud on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The show started out with a unkown bad (I don't remember the name) than Jack's Mannequin came on and they got the crowd going. The Fray played extremily well, they sounded amazing live, probably one of the best bands I have ever heard live. They played a full range of songs and for about an hour and a half, I was very pleased with the show!

  • Chilling with The Fray

    by Karebear999 on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the concert. Venue was good, except there were tons of little kids running around. Felt a little out of place. I'm 25. The tvs above were small, wish they were bigger. Unfortunately, got tickets in the back. Sound quality wasn't bad. They played songs from their new CD, I think, with some major hits. Wished they played some older tunes.

  • Beautiful and touching

Fantastic show! The Fray have a way with their lighting set up and their bland of music and casual attitudes. Great show all in all! Unfortunately, they did not play my favourite song, Look After You.

  • Great show!

The fray is incredible. If you haven't seen them live, you best make sure you buy tickets when they come next time. I've seen them 3 times now and they have never disappointed.

  • Where was the stage presence?

by Jenopia on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

There was hardly any stage presence by the fray other than the flashy blinding lights in the background. The only lines i heard them say was some opening line for the song How to save a life and "Thank you Toronto" before their set ended. I felt like this concert should have taken place in a small, intimate venue, perhaps as background music in a bar. I'm giving this concert two stars when it should be one, but i have to give credit to the the seizure inducing light show in the background.. the only thing that was mildy interesting to watch!

  • Jack's Mannequin was great, The Fray was low key

    by Roxie2910 on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Great concert, JM started the evening with great energy and amazing tunes. The crowd was really into it. The Fray were low key and very entertaining, it was a great balance. Enjoyed the evening.

  • The Fray rocked the house

by cutclose on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Isaac's beautiful, raspy voice instantly silences the roaring crowd that gathered at the Molson Amphitheatre on a warm June night. The Fray begins the concert with an acoustic rendition of Happiness which in my opinion is one of their best songs. Instantly, everyone is sitting on the edge of the seats, hanging onto every word. "Happiness feels a lot like sorrow. Let it be, you can’t make it come or go." I know right then and there, I'm in for a treat. And I'm right. The crowd remained on their feet and dance to classic songs like "How to Save a Life." The biggest surprise of the night was their unforgettable rendition of Kayne West's "Heartless." The Fray was vibrant and touching while the crowd was electric. And although I've seen The Fray several times before, I never get tired of their music.

  • Great show!

by Layman on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Both Jack's Mannequin and The Fray where incredible! I missed the other opening band, because a friend had delayed us, but made it in time for both. They both sound great live, and they show they put on stage is exciting and great!

  • The Fray = Amazing!!!!

    by lilchatterbox8 on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I went to the Fray concert for a friend, and I have left one of their biggest fans. I have found I could relate to most of their songs. I also LOVED the encore at the end which was a cover of Kayne West's song Heartless.

  • The Fray delivered!

by Elroy on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

It was one of the few hot summer nights down at the Molson Amphitheatre this year and The Fray sizzled along with the crowd. The venue was packed and the band engaged every single person. Their playlist was what the crowd wanted and the band was tight and sounded great. I went down with my two children. All ages had a great time! My only critique was having two opening bands. I thought only Jack's Mannequin was opening but another band played first making the night a little long. Overall, a great night out.

  • Jack's Mannequin's Energy Is Extreme

by Christy on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Andrew McMahon, not only rocked the stage with his undeniable energy, but my world as well. The energy was flowing through the whole crowd and hearts seemed to beat as one. McMahon's movements are riveting, everyone watched as he jumped from his grand piano, to the stage, ran around, jumped up on the keys, and especially when he engaged with the crowd.

  • Great Show from the Fray!!

A very well thought show, great set list and a fantastic visual element as well.

  • Jack's Mannequin was amazing!

    by gummibears412 on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Jack's Mannequin gave a really good show, they sounded amazing, and they were very into it they looked like they were having fun .... lots of energy, it was really fun to watch, i wish they had more time to play. I would definitely see them again. The Fray was good, but they really didn't seem all that into the show, it wasn't much different than listening to the CD with a pretty light show in the background.

  • The Fray were AMAZING and I am obsessed with JM

  • Breathtaking Performance!

    by concertlover24 on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Jack's Mannequin and The Fray concert was unforgettable! Both incredible bands. The Fray is amazing live - the lead singer, Issac, has such a great voice and they have great stage presence. Their songs - lyrics - and overall performance were breathtaking and well worth the price of admission. I highly recommend seeing them live! The bands themselves and their performance I give five stars. It is the venue that drops it down to four overall. The Molson Ampitheatre is a good venue, but not great. I feel no matter where you sit in the arena, unless you are the very front your seats are not great. I was in the very last row of the 200's - which is still pretty close but the seats and angle were not the greatest. Overall though - amazing concert!

  • The fray.

Amazing concert, if you ever have the chance, go see them! I would see them again tomorrow if I could. They sound way better live than recorded. Amazing band, new respect of them.

  • The Fray were AWESOME

by TRIP on 2009-07-15Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I went to the concert, not sure what to expect because I had never seen The Fray live before...and I was totally blown away. I have seen a band with two lead singers and, individually did an amazing job, as well as together. I loved how the band began the concert and ended the concert in exactly the same way - awesome.....And how all four of them came together, in the way that they did. I can't wait to see them again. Thanks for such a memorable concert.
