A Legend for the Ages
by DavemanTheCaveman on 2012-09-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoEvery game has a story; only one has a legend. The Legend of Zelda, Symphony of the Goddesses is an unforgettable experience for any Zelda fan out there and is Nintendo's way of reviewing their most glorious moments. The symphony starts off with an intro with music from every single Zelda game. In the back screen, we had game play footage from the games introducing us to the characters. This was followed by a dedication to all the dungeon music in the NES and SNES games, followed to the more relaxed Kakariko Village. The four movements included a tribute to Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and A Link to the Past, concluded by three surprise encores. The best part about the Symphony is that you needed no prior introduction to the characters or the story, for you would be introduced to them via the cut scenes played in the screen. Even non-Zelda fans or recent new players can enjoy the music that has made these games so popular and feel immersed in the universe. Most of the songs played can be found on the 25th Anniversary CD that comes included with The Legend of Zelda; Skyward Sword game. If you missed out on this amazing symphony, you can listen to that CD. Overall, between watching gameplay footage that made me feel like I was 6 years old again to listening to the wonderful sounds that the series is well known for, there wasn't a moment where I wasn't excited. It doesn't matter if you are a longtime fan or this is your first time playing a game in the series, Symphony of the Godesses is what tells a legend that has been told for 25 years in many different ways.
