Right from the start they we lively and sounded better than ever. The band was tight, rhythmic and fresh, a combination of old school rock, mariachi, cajun, tex-mex and latin but anything but today's country" formula" - and this guy can really sing.
Raul is one of those rare singers with perfect pitch and great range, excellent harmonies from the band, a touch of Roy Orbision meets Placido Domingo or Enrico Carusso - I could listen to him for days.
I loved the mix of horns, stand-up base, strong drums, perfect keyboards, Duane Eddy duellin' guitars, hard-top strummin' and concertina / accordion.
The evening was complete, great music, humour - the only disappointment was that more people should have been there.
