Midtown Men sang, danced and chatted about their music and lives. Entertaining the whole night with music from the 60's. Professional performance by four very talented singers and entertainers supported by a quality band.
The guys have great voices and nice choreography. They tell some Jersey Boys stories and have some humorous dialogue which adds to the performance. I particularly enjoyed the actual Four Season's songs the most, and there could have been more of those (made up about a third of the songs), though maybe there is a rights issue. It was all nicely done with video in the background, a fine orchestra, and just some good old song from the 60s.
Very talented and entertaining group. A great night out. Leave feeling very energized. Brought our teenage kids, who also enjoyed the night very much.
I didn't feel that we got our monies worth in the show. The vocal were alright, certainly not what I expected since they were former Jersey Boys on Broadway. I gave this as a gift to my in-laws and was embarrassed by the quality of the show. We typically go to Stage West, but since they are no longer in existence felt like this was a good alternative...very disappointing. At one point I heard some audience members laughing during the tenor's singing. I feel bad being so critical; however, it was a lot of money for four people and I would not do that again. I had a co-worker who bought tickets to all of the shows and said they were disappointed in this show as well as Chicago. It made me feel better knowing that I was not alone. My thoughts are that the harmony was not well done and although some of the individual songs were better I would say that the tenor needs to quit performing. My mother-in-law was laughing and said he sounded like Donald Duck. She is not a critical person and has always enjoyed the shows at Stage West. I am sorry that I can not give it a great review.
What a great evening of fun! The band was excellent and the vocals were truly awesome. I would recommend this show to anyone who has an appreciation for the great music from the 60's!
