About

When several hit TV programs like The Vampire Diaries, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and Grey’s Anatomy featured the Naked and Famous’ catchy-as-heck music, the buzz surrounding this New Zealand indie rock outfit became uncontainable, spreading to Great Britain, Europe, the U.S. and Asia. Fans couldn’t get enough of the anthemic, synthpop gems “Punching in a Dream,” “Young Blood,” “Girls Like You” and “Hearts Like Ours,” creating demand for Naked & Famous tickets around the globe. Critics and fans alike have praised their flawless live shows that conjure a mood both dreamy and danceable, reminiscent of acts like The Killers, MGMT, Passion Pit, and, at times, containing hints of Björk and Kid A-era Radiohead. Alisa Xyalith and Thom Powers vocals blend in harmonic perfection over moderate tempo synth beats, belting out highly melodic, bittersweet tunes that are an odd blend of melancholy and exuberant. No wonder that fan devotion is off the charts, making The Naked & Famous concert tickets valuable commodities indeed.

    Small Venue, Great sound

by strawbs2012 on 2016-11-12The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

To start off with, I was probably the oldest Fan at the concert 62 years old. I have enjoyed TNAF's music ever since 2011. I am not surprised my daughter who went to the concert with me, and knows a little about the band, became a true fan that night. So much so she downloaded the whole set list to her ITunes account. I must give Kudos to the first band who opened the show. Although I thought the singer was under miked for the first 2 or 3 songs, once they got that corrected they were truly amazing. The second band unfortunately were not to my taste, and I thought they brought the good vibes of the opening act down substantially. Once TNAF took the stage though, all of this was forgotten. Their sound and visual effects were stunning, and it was one great song after another. They mixed their new music and there better known songs extremely well. I must say their live show in some cases outdid their recorded music. Their drummer is truly a driving force with this band, and if you like your music a little throbbing, you came to the right show. Both my daughter and myself said that we would definitely come back to see this band even if it was the next day. At my age I have seen many great bands From U-2 to Tull, Genesis, Gabriel etc..., and I must say the passion TNAF put into their live show outdid a lot of supposedly better bands. Great Job. We will definitely see you again in the future.

    Great Show

    by Stc139 on 2012-06-26Sound Academy - Toronto

As a moderate Fan, I wasn't really sure what to expect from their show, but I LOVED it. The band was in great form and had lots of energy. I was really surprised at how intricate their light show/ backing screens were for such a small-ish band. I was really impressed that the band had a formal meet and greet after the show that was free for everybody. The only negative was the security. There had been a shooting at the venue the night before so they were on top alert. Even still, it wasn't too much of an inconvenience

    AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME

by kiwiinwhistler on 2012-05-02Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Was a awesome concert. They are way better live than on their album. If you like their music then totally go to the concert, you won't be disappointed. The only thing was that because they only have one album released, then it wasn't a long concert, but they had a sweet light show with their music and the opener bands were pretty good as well.

Not sure if band or venue but it was not good

by Bobbiemac on 2012-04-08Sound Academy - Toronto

The sound was horrible for earlier opening acts so it's hard to tell. The band still didn't have a lot of energy.

    Sureal. Abstract. Phenomenal.

by Anonymous on 2011-11-13The Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

The Naked and Famous is an incredibly special band. It was one of the most atmospheric concerts I've been to. As musicians they are fantastic. Better then their studio albums... they waited right to the bitter end to play Young Blood... after their encore, and after all the other songs on the setlist....I was almost worried they weren't going to play it... but when they did, my goodness! it couldn't have been a better way to end a concert. The response from the crowd upon hearing it was something truly special. If they come to Vancouver again... I'd be the first to buy tickets. Truly; they are a fantastic band! probably the best concert i've ever been to.

Opening acts were a tad too long but it was worth the wait when The Naked and Famous came on. they had LOTS of energy, played their whole album plus some and got the entire crowd wanting more. even my heavy metal loving brother enjoyed the show!
