    First time at the Nutcracker.

by ParamoreFan on 2011-12-21The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

The ballet started late, and there were a lot of speeches at the beginning. The sets and costumes were amazing. I really liked the first half of the ballet. The second half of the ballet kind of lost focus, but over all it was a good performance.

The nutcracker was an enjoyable evening,my daughter just loved it.We were surprised to see such young girls doing pointe though, our dance academy doesn`t let the girls do it until age 14 and cleared by a doctor. But a very beautiful performance.

    it's beautiful.

by ladyingreen on 2011-12-20The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

it's a wonderful production. I enjoyed it. if the few persons who were sitting behind me did not yell "bravo" while everyone was enjoying the performance, it would be better. it's all most like that they were paid to do that.

Both the set and the dancers were awesome. We were spellbound from the time that the curtain went up until the final bow.

    Very disappointing

by Anonymous on 2011-12-20The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Music and stage/costumes were beautiful - that is the only part of the show I enjoyed. This was a poor excuse for a ballet. Dancers were not good, not in sync. More of a kids production for parents vs holiday ballet. Too many little kids dancing in costumes, the beginning took too long - this was more of a theatre. If you are looking for an authentic nutcracker ballet experience, this is not the one. Definitely not worth $70+ per ticket.

The production was absolutely delightful. I enjoyed the amazing talented ballet artists from the youngest mice to Clara and all the professional dancers. I thought the sets were spectacular. What a marvellous celebration to put me in the Christmas spirit. It was definitely the highlight of the holiday season. I appreciate the dedication and committment the dancers madeto practise throughout the year to bring about such a talented end performance. Thank you.

I went Dec. 17th at night...not the matinee...

by MeAndMyMom on 2011-12-19The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I loved this show! The kids my age were absolutely amazing, especially Clara, she was so flexible and her expressions were so great. The only thing I did not like was the sugar plum fairy. She is supposed to be the best dancer there and she was not very nice to watch. Her face didn't really smile or looked pleasant like a fairy and she was not nearly as flexible as all of the younger girls. In Act Two the Arabian dancers were great and I loved the solo dancer who was in a green tutu and the Russian boys. Oh and the young boy and two girls who are in light blue, they were young too and very good, but my favourite was Act One with the party and all the kids in the pretty dresses. I also loved the kids singing in Act Two!

    Goh Ballet Nutcracker

by Hirokosan on 2011-12-19The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

This local production of the Nutcracker was absolutely amazing and held the attention of my young granddaughters throughout the entire show. The costumes, settings, timing and of course the marvelous dancing all made the production memorable. Even all the young children performed very well and there were a lot of children so that made the show remarkable as well. The American Ballet dancers were very good. I have seen the Nutcracker many times but this production was right up there with the best I have seen. Congratulations to Ms Goh and Goh Ballet for a job well done and for making us so proud of your achievements in Canada

The costumes and stage design were incredible. The principle dancer made me say "woa" out loud a couple times she was so amazing. All the children and teens in this production were incredible. My children were over the moon after having seen it!

    Magical!

by TrishaMcc on 2011-12-19The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

My seven year old daughter and myself had great seats for the Sat. matinee and just loved it. It inspired my daughter so much that she preformed a dance for the guests at our Christmas party at home that we had later on that evening - so sweet. We loved the dancers and it was magical when it snowed.

    stop with the camera already!

by jmgu on 2011-12-19The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

The hired photographer snapping away from the control room area was loud and annoying. The click of his camera shutter every other second was easily heard over the orchestra, and I could see people ahead of me look over in annoyance from time to time -- so I definitely was not alone. He should photograph the rehearsal then get lost!
