THE STAMPEDERS IN CONCERT:

The Stampeders first stormed the Canadian rock scene in 1964 and they haven't slowed down ever since. Whether they're strumming a double-neck electric on "Sweet City Woman" or charging through fan-favorite "Ramona", the trio still possesses the same rock ‘n' roll chops they did 50 years ago. As one of Canada's most legendary groups, the Stampeders give ticket buyers one exhilarating performance after another on their exciting tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Originally known as the five-piece group the Rebounds, the Stampeders formed in 1965 and became a trio comprised of Rich Dodson, Ronnie King, and Kim Berly. The band rose to fame with their No. 1 smash "Sweet City Woman" from their Gold-certified 1971 debut Against the Grain. Since then the Juno Award-winning outfit has had eleven Top 20 singles, three certified gold records, and toured extensively throughout their native Canada. With their impressive catalog and signature style, the Stampeders have wowed fans for years with their must-see live shows.

The Stampeders have still got it!

by CharmedEnigma on 2014-04-13Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

This was an amazing show! Though Rich Dodson, Ronnie King, Kim Berly are of a more...interesting vintage... they put on an energetic, funny and enteraining show! Their songs were delivered with the same youthful exhuberance as they were in the 70's & 80's. Their banter between songs was very funny asif they were just 3 old buddies sitting around having a few brews! I would highly recommend to anyone that they take in a Stampeders show whenever they can! Their music still resonates today and just as incredible now as it was back in the day!

    Stampeders rock!

by Rockie1 on 2013-10-19McPhillips Street Station Casino - Winnipeg

This is the first time I've seen them and they were great! Totally worth the price of admission. They sound fantastic just like they did in the 70's. The drummers voice is spot on. I like the way they joke and interact with the crowd. They played all the hits. The only downside is, how do you play your biggest hit "Sweet City Woman" with no banjo? Other than that 5 out of 5.

Excellent job boys! Voices are not as clear and crisp as they once were, and, I noticed that they can't hit the higher notes anymore but overall an excellent job!

    Blast from the Past!!

by labrat1 on 2012-03-27Lindsay Academy Theatre - Lindsay

This concert was just so much fun. We knew all their old hits, and sang along to them all. The guys sounded amazing, just like they did all those years ago. They also played their more recent songs, which had their distinctive sound as well. We enjoyed the banter onstage back and forth between the guys, very entertaining, The sound in the small venue was bang on, no annoying acoustic issues, and the intimacy of the theatre meant no bad seats anywhere. Our seats were front and centre, just wonderful. The second set was worth the ticket price alone, the guys were smoking hot for that set.

    The Stampeders

by gardeningirl on 2012-03-27Lindsay Academy Theatre - Lindsay

The show was terific. The band was full of energy and they have a great sense of humour. They had updated the old hits a bit, to keep them fresh, which was good and their 'new' music is very good too. I'd definitley go back. I saw them once before, about 2 years ago. I remember them well from the first time around and I am glad that this time I get to see them live. That was never an option for me in the 70's.

    Ahh! Those Memories

by Fezler on 2012-02-27Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

Was great to hear the Stampeders again. They did have some equipment problems, the Bass Guitar Amp or something, wiring and feed back squealing. They may want to do a better check on the gear before a show. All in all it was a great time though.

    Stampeders always rock the house!!!!!!

by Annieturtle on 2011-02-14Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

Well, were do I begin.............. the show itself was FANTASTIC as always!!!!! They always put on a great show and always do a meet and greet after. However the venue was not great. Deerfoot Casino made everyone get their wristband 5 HOURS before showtime. HMMMMM what to do for 5 HOURS? They expect you to gamble while you wait-NOT!!!!! Room was used for a buffet before the show, and that is the reason for the LONG wait and the show starting a half hour later that the tickets stated. Apparently according to the band the casino said they were playing too long. Had the show started on time that wouldn't have been a problem. Some ASS turned on the house lights before they had a chance to come back for their encore.........they alway get called back for an encore. We paid good money for a longer show and the CASINO decides when we have had enough. Not what we came for!!!!
