I don't know any of the bands I just went for the human contact.
Wow! The strokes were amazing. Sometimes seeing a band I love, I get a little worried that they might not be as good live, but the guys totally were!! It was a lot of fun. The two openers were alright too. The first one- promiseland I felt had a lot of potential. His music was very good, however his vocals either need to be used less, have more variety, or he just needs to work on it some more. The music itself reminded me of nine inch nails or kmfdm which was pretty cool, but his voice made it cringey. The other opener, Alvvays were good too! Maybe not something I’d download or check out on my own, but they were cool in their own way.
Show was awesome BUT love seeing them in smaller venues.Sound in Rogers was a bit off for them.Queen Elizabeth wouldve been much better! but they rocked.
I thought it was good. They could have been on for longer but good all the same
Alvvays and The Strokes put on a great show, but the wait time in between all the sets (whoever the first guy was??) was a little much and by the time the strokes came on we were pretty much ready to leave. The arena didn't fill up more than half until 2 hours after the show started, so having a steady stream of people always walking in and out and talking and not even cheering while alvvays was performing was really annoying. The instruments could have been turned down a notch and the vocals up. Other than that it was an awesome show.
alvvays and the strokes were amazing, but the crowd was really lame
Yassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
The band themselves you could tell performed great! I hope to see them again. However, the venue was terrible. The sound was not good... but the real problem was the lighting. YOU COULD NOT SEE THE BAND! I did not pay $125 to have all the lights shining on the audience the whole time. The band had the spotlight on them for a whole 5 seconds. Wow. There was this red and sometimes orange light shining on the band the whole time so you could not see them and everyone around me was saying the same thing. It literally could’ve been anyone up there and you’d have no idea. Anyways, the band themselves were great but Rogers Arena was a HUGE HUGE HUGE disappointment. Hopefully they choose a different venue next time.
The sound was way too loud. Couldnt hear the instruments properly, microphone was also too loud. Sound was muffled!
The wait for the main show was unreal, and somehow killed the vibe a bit. We didn't need that clown singing between each group, he wasn't funny. The Strokes were amazing but I feel they cut their set because they came on stage so late? We drove a long long way for this show and left semi impressed
You can't beat getting general admission, forcing your way to the front, center stage and having Julian crowd surf on top of you.
The Strokes rocked the Ricoh. Awesome band, Awesome performance.
