  • disappointing

by Tracy on 2023-11-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 1 out of 5

Sound management of the concert was very poor. The guys seemed rushed and out of sorts. The concert was not fluid. Was disappointing considering I love their music usually.

  • The Tenors

Very upset with their performance . Very loud, untune. Level from last concert went down. Never come again, unfortunately

  • Slightly disappointed

by MA on 2023-11-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

We were hoping for better performance. Seemed there were some technical issues with microphones, unless gentlemen had issues with their vocal cords. As well there could be much better scenography prepared. Last but not least songs were so predictable, to degree of boring. It was something better than high school production, but in considering price we Paid for premium seats, we overpaid. Program should be there with lirics to one or two song to engage whole audience.

  • Sound check needed a double check

by Fan on 2023-11-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 1 out of 5

I love the Tenors and have seen them a couple of times. They are fantastic. However, the show that i saw in Edmonton needed some technical sound check polish. The drums, percussion and piano were so loud that it was difficult to hear the strings or the choir. This is disappointing as they were from Edmonton. The mic setting of the singers was so loud and did not allow for their beautiful voices to be heard and admired. The most beautiful moments were when The Tenors sang with just a guitar or a cappella and could hear their wonderful voices. I felt that when I pay a very large amount of money to see a show that it should be polished, ready to run and professional. Seems that I was in a rehearsal where the sound check was the next thing to be done. I really wanted to hear the tenors I will think twice about going to another show and will stick to their albums.

  • Unfortunate

by I like music on 2023-11-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

The tenors had some sound problems during the very first song and didn’t really seem to get resolved during the show. Clifton was too loud and Victor was not loud enough. The Tenors are talented and skilled vocalists who, I feel, command the audience with songs like Hallelujah and The Prayer and I’ve got my love to keep me warm. During many parts of the show it felt like we were being entertained by cruise ship singers… a little too cheesy. I had really hoped to hear Instrument of Peace, The Perfect Gift and I was really hoping they would begin or end the show with When we are Together, but sadly they did not. They would have had people singing “Oh oh oh oh, when we are together” as they left the theatre if they had closed with that song. All in all, I wouldn’t say the evening was a disappointment but it was unfortunate that such a theatre had so many sound issues and the set list wasn’t the greatest. Stay in your lane, Tenors! We love your voices, harmonies, control and power. No need for all the extras.

Absolutely a captivating experience ! They did a wonderful job and their vocals are divine. I loved seeing them enjoying doing their own show and dancing and all the little extras to the songs. A must see show !

  • Great Voices but The Show...Not So Much.

by russellgburger on 2023-11-30Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

We attended the show at the Queen Elizabeth Show in Vancouver on November 26, 2023. There is no debating that these four men can sing, whether it is opera, pop or crooning. They all have incredible voices. Unfortunately, the first 10 or 15 minutes of the show was marred by terrible balance problems with the sound system, to the point that a couple of the singers voices were barely (or not at all) audible at times during the first two or three songs. It also seemed that their ear-pieces were giving them trouble all night. Eventually, the balance problem was sorted out, but they were clearly unhappy about it and the earpiece thing must have been very challenging for them. How that happens when they must have run a sound check earlier is beyond me. We also noticed that, in some cases at least, a performer's mic would be turned off when he was not singing for a short time during a song, and then there would be a short delay when he started singing again before his mic level came back up. Someone was apparently asleep at the soundboard. Beyond that, the Christmas songs were good, as were The Prayer and Hallelujah at the end. In between, the banter was okay, but these guys are not as funny or adorable as they think. The "Best of Michael Bublé and Motown"medley felt like weak filler. Bringing out Clifton's reluctant four year old son came over as more desperate than sweet (although that little boy IS very cute). And, given each member of the quartet has a unique voice and is, essentially, a soloist, their blend is not great when singing harmony. As far as costuming goes, we were not keen on the "shorty"sport-jacket look that three of them wore. That style just doesn't suit middle-aged (or almost middle-aged) men. Also, three of them wore sharp looking patent leather shoes, which made Clifton's regular leather ones look shabby even though there were not in any way beat up. And there was not a single costume change throughout, even at intermission. At one point, the band/orchestra played the theme from A Charlie Brown Christmas and we figured it was so the quartet could make a costume change...but we were wrong. They came back out after that without so much as a Christmas scarf added, which left us wondering why an orchestra break was needed at all. The orchestral ensemble from Vancouver performed well with The Tenors' own band. Unfortunately, however, we could barely hear the large-ish local choir group most of the time. Again, that seems like a mic-ing problem. We weren't sure if the Queen Elizabeth Theatre was responsible for that, or The Tenors' own sound people. Overall, we thought the show seemed a bit lazy and not that carefully thought out. They started and finished with Christmas songs (and The Prayer and Hallelujah), largely from their new album - the concert tour is obviously to promote that. But in between, they just threw in a bit of this and that from their repertoire. In the end, we were glad we went, never having seen The Tenors live before. Like I say, they have fantastic voices, and who doesn't love hearing a good tenor letting it rip! But the feeling we were left with is that they are higher on themselves than they ought to be, and are just not particularly likeable (not to say that a few fans, some of whom were clearly insiders, weren't wild for them). I don't think that is fixable.

  • Not very Christmas-y

by JW on 2023-11-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

Songs seemed all over the place and not rehersed; very little continuity! First half, most of the singing seemed out of key with one another. Was hoping for more of a Christmas theme across the board. I spoke with others after the show to confirm my feelings about it... same thoughts with all convos.

  • they were good.

by PJ on 2023-11-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

I enjoyed the performance, they always put on a good show. I would like to see them put out an album that was not a Christmas album. I only listen to the Christmas ones during the Christmas season. I like the other albums better as I can listen to them all year.

  • Performers = great but stage prep= boring

by tk on 2023-11-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

The performance started 15min late, however the Tenors and their band were awesome! Since this event was to showcase their new Christmas album I expected the stage to be decorated and was disappointed when there was nothing! Plus they tried to jazz things up after the intermission by performing regular songs instead of Christmas ones. All in all a good performance but left without feeling any Christmas spirit!

  • True meaning of Christmas told!

by Rocky on 2023-11-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The Tenors were fabulous, some technical glitches with the sound. I so appreciated the fact that Christmas songs that actually have the true meaning of Christmas were sung with great passion! Continue doing what you do and never apologize to defend the telling of the true meaning of Christmas, which brought Jesus to earth to redeem all people!

  • 4 tenors

Music selection and harmonies great. Sound so loud it became distorted at times. Show 20 minutes late starting with no explanation

  • Never a disappointment

by Lawrn on 2023-11-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, is all I can say. The Tenors where up to there expectations once again and as always, interacting with the audience and being involved with them. There songs were amazing as always and the seats, The Tenors knew exactly where I was sitting. I will be definitely getting those same seats again and I was so happy going to see them after the concert, caught up with The Tenors and just truly blessed to know these fine gentlemen, personally.

  • Poor sound mixing!

by Terry on 2023-11-29Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

The first song was so cringey- some of the tenors were excessively loud while another was too low. Couldn’t hear the choir at all! I thought “this is going to be a long night”! It got better but the four singers just didn’t mesh very well. Wasn’t near as polished as I’d expected. Their finale song (before the encore) was beautiful- finally! All-in-all it was good but certainly not great! Will not see them again! Sorry!

  • First hour not as good as 2nd

by Dorothy on 2023-11-29Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Felt that one of the singers had trouble harmonizing. Second hour was much better....not the best Tenors show we've been to but will come again next year.

  • Thank you for another fantastic show
