We thought that the first act, The Grapes of Wrath, should have been the headline act and had a bigger presents. The Watchmen? Well, we were not impressed with their boring composition and writing. The volume was outrages and we left early and were able to beet the rush from the packed house. Again, The Grapes of Wrath were great.
Exceptional set list. Stellar crowd interaction. The audience took a while to get into the show, but as always The Watchmen delivered a fantastic, you make me proud to be a fan performance. I’ll continue to see these local fellas every chance I get.
The Watchmen put on a fantastic show! The vocals remain impeccable as well as the musicianship of the band members. Loved the Skydiggers who opened for them.
Haven’t saw these guys for many years I think they are getting better with age!! Will see them again when they return!!
This band has been a favorite of my boyfriend's for a very long time. He's never had the chance to see them live in concert so when I saw they were coming back to Winnipeg I immediately bought tickets... Throughout the whole show, he was totally loving it. I've really grown to love them as well, thanks to him therefor I really enjoyed the concert too! The vibe was great, it was an excellent venue, the crowd was awesome and you could tell that this band really loves what they do and they honestly put on a great show! Not going to lie, the boyfriend and I both agree, they put on the best concert we've ever been to! It was that good... I highly recommend.
The band played their awesome hits! Club Regent is an amazing venue.
Band was as good as ever maybe better with the more intemate venue.
The Watchmen were great, the performance was very enjoyable. The venue was good but the sound production was a bit off. The vocals were hard to understand and the mixing could have been better. The guitar was overpowered by the drums and vocals. Great show overall. The crowd loved it. Nice to see Howard M do the intro
Skydiggers, the opening act was so fun to watch! I wish they had played a longer set and was sorry to see them go. The Watchmen were incredible, and sounded amazing! The venue was clean, and a good, intimate size, but the crowd was so rude! Ad any given point dozens of people were coming and going, everyone was talking loudly during an intimate solo performance by the lead. The doors were never closed so there was extra light pollution and extra noise on top of the inconsiderate crowd. It felt more like a lounge act than a sit-down concert. Too bad because both bands deserved more than that!
This was one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time !!! If you get the chance to see this you should.
From the opening act (the Pikes) to Dannys triumphant vocals, the show was intimate and timeless. The venue was amazing to see these bands and I look forward to seeing more shows at the Club Regent Event Centre.
Played usual hits and some older ones that haven't been played in years. Set was shorter than in the past, just under 1h 40min. As singers age, the voice struggles, but Danny is still working it quite well overall.
I loved every minute of the show! They just get better all the time. I love that I know what to expect because I've seen them so many times (going back to The Spectrum and Sunfest!) but they always throw in some great improvs and acapella to keep us on our toes. There is always so much energy at their shows - just fantastic.
Danny Greaves has one of the best voices in music. The shows are always unique, yet follow a similar structure. They play with high energy, and the concerts always have an intimate feel - they are so connected to their fans. The Watchmen are one of the greatest bands to come out of Manitoba, and the sense of pride from the fans is clear.
I hadn't seen The Watchmen in concert since 1990 or 1991, so was very excited to see them again (finally) at The Walker Theatre! Okay, it's called the Burton Cummings Theatre now - but to me it will always be The Walker! I took my 19 year-old nephew with me. I knew he would like them - well now, he Loves them! And they were just as great as I knew they would be! It was a Fantastic show! 5 STARS!
This is the second time seeing the Watchmen in as many years. Such a good show! The band plays with a ton of energy, plays all the hits including fan fave sing along All Uncovered. The Burt is the perfect venue for this band.
Danny Grieves and the band sounded fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed the show.
What an amazing night. I went expecting a 90s nostalgia trip and it was that and so much more. These guys are incredible live and made for a hell of a night.
I've seen The Watchmen many times, but this one seemed special. The vibe in the venue was amazing and it was full of true fans, evident by nearly everyone singing along to every song. The band played some older songs which was refreshing and everyone could feel the love.
The Watchmen were amazing! They still know how to put on a great show...
