It was awesome, Pete and Roger both still have it!!!
Brilliant concert. Note for note performance of Quadrophenia. They had to wait almost 40 years for it to pour perfect. Using Old footage of John and Keith at their key points was perfection. Who would have thought john would still get a stand ovatition from his bass solo? Thank the Gods I bought tickets to the Hamilton show! If you have the chance, I think you would do the same!
Last saw the Who in 1982 in Toronto and while I am not a fan of large venue shows anymore, this show was amazing from both a musical and performance perspective but also from a genuine appreciation perspective as both Townshend and Daltrey seemed to truly enjoy what they were doing as did the crowd!
Big crowd in the stadium, lots of energy on stage, Pete still an amazing guitarist.
Amazing! Those 2 almost 70 year olds can bring it. Over 2 hours of solid classic rock. Pete hasn't lost any of he sill, just the height on his jumps. Great backup players as well. Loved the tributes to John and Kieth.
Good last 1/3 of the show, but Quadraphenia, in my mind, is a bit tedious to listen to. Nice presentation , ie. lights and backing videos, but otherwise an ok show.
I've waited 40 years for that show. And in every respect, it was well worth the wait. The visuals were just magnificent and perfectly timed to the music. The music set was simply the best. Yes, I am a fan of the Who from day one. Yes, I missed Entwistle and Moon but 5:15 and Bellboy made up for it. Pete and Roger were in the best of forms. Long Live Rock.
The Who were a high school fav, and the opportunity to see them after all these years was amazing. Although a little rough around the edges, they were still great. You have to remember that these guys are well into their 60's . Recommended for all those diehard Who fans!
Very good considering I really didn't know the Quadraphenia Album, these guys can still rock. I would have liked to hear more of their hits, but understand that this tour is about the Quadraphenia Album......if you love The Who ....this is a must see show !
The WHO performed an amazing show would definitely see them again
Absolutely brilliant. Daltrey has not lost his voice but Townsend is a little more gravelly. Only negative is that they tried to blind the audience with their light show but that could have been because the location of our seats.
British Invasion rockers The Who showed 10,000 screaming Winnipeg fans what made them the kings of arena rock during the 60's, 70's and 80's. Led by guitartist/songwriter extraordinaire Pete Townshend and frontman Roger Daltrey, the group belted out an impressive array of material ranging from pop hits such as "Can't Explain," "My Generation, "Who Are You," FM classics such as "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Baba O'Reilly" as well as new material from their latest mini opera "Wire and Glass" and from their upcoming CD "Endless Wire," quickly muzzling media naysayers who believed the band was too old, creatively exhausted, or couldn't deliver the goods due to the demise of former bassist John Entwhistle and drummer Keith Moon. There was no shortage of Townshend's trademark windmill guitar moves or Daltrey's mike swinging stage pyrotechniques. Their backing group, consisting of ex-Beatle Ringo Starr's son Zak on drums, studio whiz Pino Palladino on bass, Pete's brother Simon on guitar and John Bundrick on keyboards proved imminently capable of filling the shoes of The Who's legendary former rhythm section. Outside of a couple of brief technical problems with Pete's guitar early in the show, the sound and production values were top flight. Giant screens flashed images of the band in their heyday accompanied by dazzling strobe and laser light effects. After receiving an well deserved stand ovation for a sizzling rendition of "Won't Get Fooled Again," the band encored with "Pinball Wizard" and "See Me, Feel Me" from the rock opera "Tommy."
