About

Thirty Seconds to Mars began as a musical outlet for brothers Jared and Shannon Leto in 1998, and the pair have remained the core of the experimental rock group throughout its existence. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2002 and broke onto the Billboard 200; it went on to sell over 2 million copies. Thirty Seconds to Mars experienced a jump for their 2005 follow-up A Beautiful Lie, which featured their first Hot 100 single “The Kill (Bury Me)” and first No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart in “From Yesterday.” The band supported the album with their first headlining tour in 2006. This Is War arrived in 2009, followed by the band’s Into the Wild world tour, which set a Guinness World Record for "longest concert tour by a rock band" between 2010 and 2011. The band’s subsequent two albums, 2013’s Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams and 2018’s America, both debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, while the latter hosted Thirty Seconds to Mars’ first No. 1 single on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, “Walk on Water.” In 2023, the band released their sixth album, It's the End of the World but It's a Beautiful Day.

30 Seconds to Mars was the best show ever!

by Gelica on 2010-04-19Sound Academy - Toronto

I loved how the Neon Trees opened for 30 Seconds to Mars. They were full of energy and got the crowd ready for the next part. I REALLY enjoyed the entire show. The intro for 30 Seconds to Mars was very cool. There was a sheet that covered the stage and the shadows on the sheet had a very good effect. Jared Leto is also very comedic and adds that much more to the show. They were very interactive and kept the fans involved the whole show. The show was amazing, and I'd love to see them again if I have the chance. Hopefully they'll come back to Canada!

30STM - Don't miss out on them next time

by Grrl on 2010-04-19Sound Academy - Toronto

This concert was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. The boys sweated it out on a set that was at least an hour and a half. Jared is an amazing leader: cheering on the crowd, encouraging us to dance, sing, mosh and crowd surf, stopping to talk to us at every opportunity. He also did a surprise acoustic bit ("Hurricane", "Oblivion", "The Kill") a stage halfway into the crowd and then went back to the main stage through us. For their encore ("Kings & Queens") they brought at least 30 random people onto the stage. The band is quite amazing, staying behind after the concert to sign any kind of memorabilia for the fans (I had my Cd and ticket signed by them). And, I mean, who does that anymore? The venue was intimate and I was about 4 rows from the front barrier. Great sound and overall an amazing night. If you missed them this time, don't miss them when they come back.

    Thirty Seconds To Mars

by Anonymous on 2010-04-19Sound Academy - Toronto

The energy was high. The place was packed, and everyone who I met was unbelievably excited to "finally" see the band. When they came on stage the energy cranked up to the room. Everyone was screaming and dancing. This is a band who takes care of their fans. They let them crowd surf, get on each other shoulders, they encourage (VERY VERY) tight quarters stage front. This became a solid block of people, (which some had to escape to the sides) They were engaging, upbeat, and spoke with us during the concert. The music was phenomenal! To finally hear my favourite song's live was amazing. Kudos to the band, as well as the opening band, and shout-out to the crew. This show was enjoyable and full of memories. IF YOU EVER GET THE CHANCE TO GO - don't just wait to go with someone. Pick up a single ticket as I did and hang with the very friendly fan base they have. You will not regret ever going to one of their concerts.

Concert was phenominal. Music was just incredible, lyrics were so audience interactive, Jared Leto had fans singing every song, he's a very good entertainer he even walked through the crowd and was singing with fans around him, for last song he pulled about 20 fans from crowd to dance on stage. Jared also talked a lot to the audience and was very funny. And to top it off, He said "Whats up dude, good to see you here" to me !!

Thirty Seconds To Mars Was Amazing

by KyleMc on 2010-04-19Sound Academy - Toronto

The venue was great but the whole place was consumed by the personality of the band. Leto made the entire group feel like one big family at a gigantic party. Way to go guys, will definitely be seeing you again, so please don't take so long to come back to Toronto.

30 Seconds To Mars Thrill At The Palms Pearl

by Mistressred on 2010-04-17Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

We bought regular GA tickets, but once our flights were confirmed upgraded to the ILAA tickets. We had met the band before, but figured flying from Alberta to Las Vegas, we may as well try to meet them and say hello. This band is very accessible to their fans anyway, but the meet and greet was fun, the band was friendly and it all went by too fast. We ended up in front row standing in front of Shannon Leto, and his amazing drum kit. We knew what songs would probably be included, from reading about the bands newly completed European tour. The set list was long, 16 songs I think, and the crowd had many first timers seeing the band, but everyone was very loud and exuberant. You could see how Jared and the band feed off the fan's reactions, and they are always pleased when fans sing along to their songs. Jared holds the mic out many times to listen to the fans singing the lyrics. Jared dyed his blonde Mohawk bright neon pink (he says pomegranate), and you could really keep an eye on him, especially during the song The Kill, as he starts it acoustic in the back of the venue, then climbs down into the GA pit. He makes his way to the stage through the crowd, urging them to sing with him, while the band is on stage and the song is full band, for the second half of the song. To see Jared in this crazy mosh pit of fans, is always quite a sight the first time, but it is old news to him, and he walks among his fans at many a concert. Being up front it was incredible, to see the band hard at work and having great energy, and we were able to take some great photos and video with security being very accommodating at this venue. As with many of 30 Seconds To Mars's fans, I would love to see them at several venues for this Into The Wild tour.
