Completely enjoyed my experience at the Tim Horton's Brier! Great seats and great games!
The event was fine. My seats were terrible. As they have been before in the nosebleed section. I guess I never learn. This time, my view of the monitor was blocked by the 'scaffold' stuff in the roof. That was not nice. I will never buy tickets again for any event in those top seats. The event was fine - nicely organized, which has little to do with CUC - The Tim Horton's booth was great. The other food was very over priced. I mean really- $4.50 for a piece of lousy pizza? I guess my poor seat spoiled the event in a way , for me.
very good event, needed to have more room at the original 16 patch but overall a very entertaining event. looking forward the Edmonton next year.
The curling was excellent except when only one draw, and that game is a blowout, there is nothing to watch..At the Patch, when there is only one brand of beer, you are limited to drinking a beer that I do not like therefore I drank very little beer. The only draw that has only one game should be the final game.
You cannot appreciate the Brier unless you attend the games. Rather than watching one most often boring game on TV, you get to see 6 teams in action. The best part is watching all the skips throw the rocks and all the excitement that goes with it including the players and the fans reactions. There is always so much action and never a dull moment waiting for only skip rocks. TSN does a wonderfly job but it does not compare to actually being at the games.
It was well organized... the paperwork arrived in the nick of time - wish i had better seats, but there were ample seats to switch around. If I can swing it, we will go next year again.
We attend to most of the draws and found the event very worthwhile. Realy enjoyed the Hot Shot part and the opening and closing ceremonies. We found the music played before a little to loud as we couldn't visit with people sitting with us. I felt the Curling Association lacked in recognizing the volunteers compared to years in the past. Most of the games were very good and close and competitive which was exciting. Good to see the prices for coffee and tea very good and reasonable. I would like to see less alcohol being served. Overall well worth the price and entertainment.
What a great time! super skill on display! ... and MB did well.
We had a 5 hour drive home and had to be home for Monday morning, Due to the 9AM start time for the bronze medal game and the 6 PM start time of the final (6 hour gap from the end of the bronze game to the start of the final) we decided that instead of killing 6 hours in Saskatoon, then getting home at 2AM, that we would just leave after the bronze game, and be home on time to watch the final on TV. Since there are a lot of people at this event from out of town, it would have been nice to have an earlier start time for the final on Sunday.
Thought it was a little disorganized at the beginning of the event. we as a city should know how to run this event in our sleep. but as the week went on things seem to be run a little better. i thought we went down hill as far as entertainment went at the patch!! Yes.there was some ok cover bands but i would of thought for closing week Friday and Saturday there would of been some bigger names not people we have not heard of?? The staff in the patch were really good about keeping tables clean ect. seating and bathrooms are always a concern at the patch. maybe bringing more of those portable trailers next.time would help?? All in all fun was had. i noticed too that not many teams were in the patch this year? I would of thought after Thursday when so many were out you.would see them a little more like other years!?!
Glad we went to Bronze Game from a fan perspective was the best game
Great fun and great curling. Saskatoon put on a great Brier. Organizing committee should be commended!
We enjoyed watching the curling in a great facility. Go again. Yes, but need to budget more for meals and clothing. We watched the final 4 games at home because they were covered on TV. You need to be there to get the excitement and see how the teams relate to each other during the round robin.
Purchased ticket pkg for my parents. They loved the event! Curling was excellent! Volunteers did an excellent job--thanks so much. We attended as many games as we could fit in during the week and had a great time. The earlier games with all sheets filled were more entertaining than the later draws with one featured game. These games to be frank were boring at times. My mother thoroughly enjoyed the fans, costumes, contests and fun atmosphere!! The Briar Patch was electric! There could have been more tables for fans---my parents had to stand to eat many times which was difficult for them. Also a young friend with an infant was unable to sit with her child and fans took no sympathy on her---boots to you!!
It was great watching the curling in real life. Every person working there, that we encountered, was very friendly and helpful.
It was amazing!! I loved it! Got to meet the different teams and they were all very nice! The prices of food and drinks were a little high but thats to be expected at a major event like this!
Found the event very enjoyable, good seats, I will go again
Was a great time, a very well run event that provided good parking and bus service.
I loved the brier. Wish I had bought tickets to the final too!
The first four days of the Brier were great. The double impact ticket option worked great for us.
