    Argo's Game vs Bombers

by Maguib on 2009-08-02Rogers Centre - Toronto

A win or loss often is preceeded by a bunch of other great plays, heart by dedicated professionals and turnovers that shift the momentum on the field. This was a fair day for the Argo's! The Argo's lost in a decision, from my vantage point at the 25 yard line, to kick a field goal rather than try short yardage specialty teams in a 3rd down and 2 situation. With every two minutes to go and more than 45 yard attempt no Coach should be switching their faith from their specialty team muscle to achieve a short yardage grab! Sorry but the game was lost by that one call and so I have to look to the Coach and Offensive Coordinator and remind them to review Coaching 101 basics. Go for the glory when the team has won all the games and can afford one loss and still do well in the playoffs. As for the game, well the fans, they let the team down. This was a home game where you could hear yourself truly think. As a family day you expect the children to be quieter and for fans to be tamer at the no alcohol event on a scorcher of a day with no shade for most of the melting fans. But this was the second game I watched the Argo's lose with anemic fan support! I sat with my wife and two kids a few weeks ago and we drowned out the locals with our Go Riders rant. I actually feel sorry for the Toronto teams with all their fan support directed to the pointless and fruitless Leafs when solid franchises like the Argo's list with a local fan base that needs to be the 13th player at every game. I suspect Hamilton fans are energized or try to be at every game too. My final thought: "Go Riders and wake up Toronto and get behind your team they could be the Eastern Stars every year!"

    Argos game

by Regina on 2009-08-02Rogers Centre - Toronto

I can't believe how bad the football is in the CFL. Don't waste your money. Toronto turned over the ball 8 times. Go to the Bills Games.

Ticketmaster service was excellent. Tickets were easy to pick up at Sunrise Records Cloverdale Mall. Argos lost, missed a last minute field goal.

    ARGO's and MONTREAL

by BeetonGirl on 2009-07-16Rogers Centre - Toronto

WOW, it felt like the hottest day in summer at the DOME because there was no air on but the boys on the field made it a fun event. Argo's were a little slow off the block but came back to show their strength in the second half. Haven't ben to an Argo's game in years and it brought back the memories of how much fun it really is to go to a live game! AAAARRRRRRGGGGGOOOOOOO"SSSSSSSS!!!

    riders were dominating

by mellen on 2009-07-16Rogers Centre - Toronto

The experience was one that will not soon be forgotten for my mother and I. The game started off with the quick start argos scoring on their first drive. But the roughriders would not soon be out done for the came back, scoring in bunches to take control and later the game. The scenary was amazing due to the dome being closed for the first half and then opened up for the second. The food was of a wide variety and very satisfying to our whole party. This occurence will be remembered forever.

A good start to the season!

    by Jax12 on 2009-07-15Rogers Centre - Toronto

Although a preseason game the atmosphere was exciting and the hype surrounding the game was good. My overall experience at the Rogers Centre was excellent. My only suggestion for improvement has to do with the use of the Argo band. I enjoy the fact that there is a real band present but every time the band tried to play they were in conflict with music from the public address system. Consequently the result was distorted music. It doesn't make sense to have a band if the crowd is unable to enjoy their performance.

Is football still the main event?

by oldfan on 2009-07-15Rogers Centre - Toronto

I know the CFL and Argos are in a competitive market and count on every cent of revenue from all sources including advertising. But I think that it is a bit much to have that screaming chick trying to entertain all with all these silly sponsored things every time the play stops. Several times in our section these events began to overlap the game play.

    Great Team!! Great Fans!!

by Dadandthekids on 2009-07-14Rogers Centre - Toronto

The Argos are a great team, win or lose. My kids loved the game - two of them play highschool football. My British friend, who had never seen a Canadian football game - and anticipated the worst - said she had an absolute hoot due to the fact we sat directly in front of a group of painted-up young people who turned out to be the most enthusiastic, fun and energetic fans at the Dome that day; they kept our section laughing and cheering and made the occassion one we will not soon forget!! This is not unusual at an Argos game, people go to have fun and they do have fun. Great team! Great fans! Thanks for the birthday gift kids!!!!!

and the defense took way too many stupid penalties but a fantastic atmosphere. At least the numerous Green Rider fans went home happy

    RoughRiders were awsome

    by floday2003 on 2009-07-13Rogers Centre - Toronto

The RoughRiders played an awsome game to come from behind the Argonauts 20 points and win the game by 10 points, 36-46. We flew all the way from Flin Flon, MB to see our Riders win their second game of this season-putting them in First place in the good old WEST! It was one of the most exciting game of the week, and the Argonaut fans around us were fabulous sports. Thank you Toronto!

by Riderchick on 2009-07-13Rogers Centre - Toronto

It was a little touch and go at first, but the Riders made their fans proud! Way to go! Even the Argo fans beside us were impressed by the Riders! Bring on the CUP!

CFL is great value for money

by APOttawa on 2009-07-13Rogers Centre - Toronto

With over 30,000 fans in attendance, the atmosphere was great. The CFL game is very exciting and pretty reasonably priced for very good seats. Lots of free give-aways, especially good for kids (inflatable thunder sticks, cardboard helmets, etc.). Though the concessions aren't cheap, they offer a wide variety of snacks and drinks (better choice than at other stadiums and arenas). I found the in-stadium staff to be excellent and very vigilant. We sat in the no-alcohol family section and they were very good about making sure there was no drinking in our section, being polite but firm.

    Argo Home Opener

by AlexE on 2009-07-13Rogers Centre - Toronto

The game itself was painful to watch. Far too many useless fouls by the Argos. How a team this talented can play so bad I do not know. But the tickets were great. My wife enjoyed her first football game.

If only TO had a Team!!!

by NiagaraJoe on 2009-07-13Rogers Centre - Toronto

Great game, the Argos started off so promising. But the mighty Rough Riders trampled the boatmen in the 2nd quarter. Like a cat playing with a mouse. Now for a season opener I would think they would have been a little more generous, paper football helmets? Throw me a towel or a car flag or something that would get the Argos some exposure. Not a throw away item that for the most part doesn't see the light of day.

    Argos lack discipline

by mask on 2009-07-12Rogers Centre - Toronto

Having previously been a season ticket holder, I found an opportunity to introduce the game to my son. It was a bit disheartening to see what seemed to be the selfish intent of a couple players on a forty plus player roster turn the event into what turned out to be a a downer for what should have been a positive experience. Losing is not the issue, the garbage tactics made something negative out what could have easily had a new generation of fans embracing the game.
