Toronto Maple Leafs History

The Toronto Maple Leafs have 13 Stanley Cup Championships and six division championships, with more than 60 former players, coaches and executives in the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Maple Leafs were one of the NHL's founding teams in 1917. They originally were known as the Arenas and then the St. Patricks before taking their current name in 1927 after Conn Smythe bought the franchise.

The team won two Stanley Cup Championships in the NHL's first five years and returned to the finals in 1932 behind the "Kid Line" of eventual Hall of Famers Charlie Conacher, Joe Primeau, and Busher Jackson. In 1942, they defeated the Detroit Red Wings in seven games to win the first of five Stanley Cup Championships under coach Hap Day. The addition the following year of center Ted Kennedy helped the Leafs maintain their dominance, and resulted in another title in 1951.

The Leafs won three Stanley Cup Championships in a row starting in 1962, and another in the 1966-1967 season, thanks to a roster brimming with players who would end up in the Hall of Fame: George Armstrong, Johnny Bower, Red Kelly, Dave Keon, Tim Horton, Allan Stanley, Bob Pulford, and Frank Mahovlich.

The team returned to the conference finals in 1992-1993 and 1993-1994, then again in 1998-1999 — the latter trip powered by eventual franchise scoring leader Mats Sundin. The Toronto Maple Leafs have made the Playoffs a total of 72 times to date.

    Leafs preseason game

Amazing seats for a reasonable price. A great way to be able to check out the Leafs before the season begins.

    Leafs For The Win

    by General BurHan on 2023-08-31

So all these pouty pandas whining about the Leafs. If you say good things about them they want to call you a part time fan. Who on earth made them divide who is a real leafs fan or not. I grew up in Toronto and support my city. Go leafs go for better or worse! I’m with you till the end my beloved champions. Go get em Men! Do your best and don’t let these confused ungrateful ingrates tell you nothing, if they do do t let it phase you. Let’s get that Cup. 16 wins to it, once you get to the playoffs that is. Best wishes to my Leafs and I’ll be watching you. cYa

    Leafs suck

by Stop going on 2023-05-05Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

As long as the fans keep going to the games and paying hundreds or thousands of dollars per ticket, the Leafs will never have any motivation to win or go far during the playoffs. Fans and corporate should stop going to the games! Doesn’t matter if we fire the coach, get a new defender, draft a super star player, get a new general manager, etc, etc. it will always be the same results year after year. STOP going to the games and you will see a change! I guarantee it!

    Not giving one

    by 🖕 on 2023-04-30

As a hard working, blue collar individual, I cannot afford your 300 level playoff prices. As an Organization, the Leafs care more about themselves than the die-hard fans.

    Decent hockey, poor buying experience

by Tommytoss on 2023-04-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The game and seat selection is one thing, not ticketmasters fault. Buying tickets is frustrating. The whole 3 tiered presale makes it very difficult to obtain half decent seats.

    NOT wheelchair friendly

    by M. F. on 2023-04-24Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I was in Section 105A Row 18A premium wheelchair section. This was the first playoff I’ve ever attended. I spent 25% of my monthly pension to get this seat and was looking forward to a magical experience. Being in a wheelchair, I saw very little of the game and none of the highlights or scoring as everyone jumped to their feet to cheer. All I could see were the backs of the people in front. The only reason I knew there had been a hat trick was seeing hats flying though the air. I didn’t find out until the train trip home, who got the hat trick. At least for Playoff games where this type of audience reaction is common, these seats should not be sold as premium to wheelchair patrons. Rather, they are at best obstructed with food delivery and should be the cheapest seats in the place. The standing room only seats at the top of the upper tier have a better sightline.

    Best sports game

by Hammer on 2023-04-23Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

There isn’t much to say The leafs game back with a drive to win and nothing short of it The way leaf nation pumps up the game is awesome I wish I could’ve got a t shirt but none were shot my way The season ticket holders to my right made it feel like a family event so I guess there is lots to say. Leaf fans are awesome because it doesn’t matter what arena you’re in its one big family of leaf fans.

One of the best experiences of my life

by Luca on 2023-04-21Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Atmosphere in the arena was amazing as everyone was cheering and made everything much more exciting. Transportation to the arena was very easy and fast. The arena accommodated everything such as food, beer, snacks, gift shops, etc. I had a blast and I will definitely come back to watch another game. GO LEAFS GO!

    The music is crap !

by GB on 2023-04-07Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Everything great, except the music that is played during breaks and intermissions. It is too loud and is some kind of head-banging thumping crap ! Play more of the rock classics instead of this ear numbing shitte.

    Game good, tickets disappointed

    by J on 2023-04-05Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The game and everything was great. Easy to get into the arena, easy to leave. We did leave with 5 minutes left but was worth it to avoid the wild traffic. Was slightly disappointed as the tickets were shown differently on the site then what we got. We were expecting to sit behind the Toronto net twice, based on the rinks online map. Instead we were behind the Wings net twice, and right beside a giant wall. We couldn’t see much unless they were on the opponents or we watched the TV. Other people sitting in our area also said the same thing that they were expecting the Toronto net twice as well. Other then not sitting where expected and not being able to see much, was a good time.

    Great venue

by Yuki on 2023-04-01Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Good food options, plenty of bars to buy a drink and enough washrooms so you don't have to line up too long at intermission. Favorites are the Hogtown foot long hot dogs and the Korean hot dogs (need one on the 100 level). Also easy to get out of the building after the event. I was recently at MSG in NYC and although Scotiabank Arena doesn’t have the history, it's a better venue for the experience and efficiency.

    Poor experience.

by Thomas on 2023-03-16Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Was my daughters first leaf game. She was super excited but the young couple behind us were constantly swearing and being a nuisance. I asked the attendant if she could do something about it but she refused. We left after the second period as my daughter was so upset.
