Toronto Raptors History

The Toronto Raptors were founded in 1995 as part of the NBA's expansion into Canada. The Raptors have been the only NBA team based in Canada since the 2001–02 season. After acquiring eight-time All-Star Vince Carter in 1998, the Raptors set league-wide attendance records and made the playoffs from 2000 to 2002. Led by Carter, the Raptors earned their first playoff series win in 2001 and advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Raptors didn't return to the playoffs until the 2006–07 season, when they won the Atlantic Division title. After Masai Ujiri joined as the team's General Manager in 2013, the Raptors became a consistent playoff team, winning five division titles and having their most successful season in 2018. The following year, during the 2019 playoffs, the Raptors earned their first Eastern Conference title and went on to win their first NBA championship, defeating the Warriors in 6 games.

great seats; could see everything and enjoy my team win the game

  • Fans put in better effort than the team! sad!

With hugh playoff implication on the line, we thought it would be as intense as a playoff game going in ... as fans, we are hoping we could be the sixth man to cheer our team to a playoff spot. As it turns out, seem like the fans has more energy, intensity and will then the entire Raptors team! Players seems disinterested to play on both ends of the floor. Who would have thought the Raptors would be out of the playoff picture considered we were fifth place around the all star break. We are loosing faith fast! Can't blame CB if he wish to leave TO this summer. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

One of the worst displays I've ever seen. This is a team fighting for a playoff spot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • RAPTOR VS. BOSTON GAME WAS AMAZING!!!

by kipinedark on 2010-04-08Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Although the seats were quite high, I was able to see the court clearly, make out the players, and most importantly enjoy the game!!! The crowd was hype and was definitely into the game. Stadium had a nice vibe and everyone was totally friendly. I would love to watch the RAPTORS play again. Maybe in the future I'll try to find better seats. Can you guys help me out?! LoL. All in all I had a great time.

I'd never been to a Raptors game and definitely recommend the experience both for basketball fans and those who don't follow it. I'm not a fan and did it as a gift for someone else but really enjoyed myself. I found that the sport was very interesting live and the crowd makes it exciting. Also they do tons of different things in between periods, at halftime and in time outs. All in all it was a great night out and actually a pretty good game.

  • Ran out of food!

by BdayPresentGoneBad on 2010-04-08Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

I bought the Family Pack of tickets for my hubbs and his boys to enjoy as a "guys night out" however, the ACC ran out of food so they didn't get popcorn as part of their package! Also, in the promo on redflags it said that people who bought the Family Pack could make free throws on the court --- however --- it did not mention that it was only for those 12 and under! So that was kind of a letdown as well! Im not sure if that "12 years and under" was listed on the ticketmaster website or not but it would've been cool if it was just open to everyone! Anyhow, from the feedback I received from the hubbs, I'd give it a "fair" ... not GREAT but not overly awful either.

  • Raptors vs Celtics

by Rymick on 2010-04-08Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great game. Too bad Bosh was injured the night before and Turgulo went out in the first quarter. Sonny Weems is amazing. Jarrett Jack is a great point card, Raptors should definately keep him.

I've been to many basketball games and watched from all over the ACC from almost the last row of the 300's where they're always partying!! to the 200's (still lots of energy) but last night was floor seats. The atmosphere and energy is unbelievable!! The players are right there, you see everything, hear everything - I can't wait to do it again.

  • never fail to disappoint

by hogtownboy on 2010-04-05Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Thde one time I could afford to take my grandson to th e game the raptors come out flat. as thestaff at the ACC were rude to my little guy because he just want to go closer at half time and stand by the raptors locker then back to the seat. Next time I might s7just sit in the greys and wait until the suit come out of hiding about half way through the game

  • Tight Game

    by ParlayKing71 on 2010-03-28Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

It was a close, tight game that the Raptors lost by 1. Seats were a little far from the action, but it was still fun.

It was great seeing Melo get the game winning buzzer beater. I was on the edge of my seat for the last 4 minutes of the game. Very intense.

I took my two sons to thier first basket ball game. The Raptors won and we got a free pizza out of it. The boys were not sure they would like it, and now they can't wait to go again. We might be interested in next years season passes and would defintely like to go again this year before the season is over. Cheers.
