    Fantastic show

by 40yrold on 2017-06-13Casino Rama Resort - Rama

All the big hits played and sung like you know them. They could have thrown in "I won't hold you back" and " Georgy Porgy" but other then that an amazing night.

Toto with no opening act - perfect!

by Totofan on 2016-09-21Fantasy Springs Casino - Indio, CA

This time managed to get down to Indio to see this fantastic band, all the players are still in very fine form. It was great to get my wish - a Toto show without having another act take up their valuable concert time. Of course the guys were incredible, this time with legendary Lee Sklar on bass. The other regulars were all there, Paich, Porcaro, Shannon Forrest on the kit (who is the 'official' Toto drummer now), and Luke! Super fun meet and greet with photos, the band was again friendly, funny and accommodating answering whatever questions we had. The concert itself was amazing, the only downside - and this is NOT Toto's fault - it was held at a casino so basically the first 8 rows were given to non-fans, friends of the casino, high rollers, their version of VIPs. Many of these seats remained empty, some were filled by little kids...I was embarrassed for the band, at least we snuck forward as far as we could to fill the vacancies. Loved the setlist, glad to hear the newer tunes as well. Next year!!!

    What an evening!

by Totofan on 2015-11-08Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - Coquitlam

Toto; Yes?!? How could this NOT be a great show?!? I no longer try to convert music fans, if by now you haven't seen a show by either of them (if you've had the opportunity), you'll never know what you're missing and you won't care anyway. Seeing bands of this caliber is a gift, I'll just keep on going (out of my way) as long as they want to keep performing. I hope one day Toto will be able to pull off a full set without another band, Yes is able to do this on an annual basis. At any rate, attended two shows on this tour and both were super. Enough said.

Very exciting evening with Toto & Yes

by Fancy1 on 2015-09-16Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - Coquitlam

My goal was to see Toto. The best thing about seeing them was indeed seeing them. The voices have been well kept and they have been taking care of themselves. Steve Lukather - What can I say? Truly brilliant and he seemed to be in an easy-going, lighthearted mood. I think they all could tell that we were happy to see them after some 30 years. I would have liked to hear other songs - 99, I Won't Hold you Back, Stop Loving you.

    toio & yes tour

by Aphyosemion on 2015-09-15Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - Coquitlam

Two totally contrasting bands but both had everybody screaming for more at the end of their shows. The show length was great at about 3 hours real music.

    Toto and Yes

by beerlover on 2015-09-15Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - Coquitlam

Toto were amazing, relaxed, having fun and definitely on that night. Great show, Luke was brilliant as usual. Back up singers also incredible. Only complaint the bass mix ate up a lot of the frequencies and clouded the overall sound. However still great show. Yes were a little slow to get into their stride but again were fantastic. All members of the band master musicians and gave their all. Their mix and instrument separation was much better than the mix for Toto. Great crowd, enthusiastic and attentive. Such a change from some concerts I have been to lately where people are up and down, texting and have the attention span of a fly! Biggest letdown is the beer selection at the Hardrock. Only expensive corporate beer.In Vancouver and BC there are so many great local craft beers, why don't they stock at least one beer that appeals to the growing crowd of craft beer lovers. Come on Hardrock get up to date!!!

    VIP Meet and Greet

by DWinLangley on 2015-09-15Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - Coquitlam

I purchased the VIP package and met the guys from Toto at the sound check and for a meet and greet autograph session before the show. Totally worth the expense for the once in a life time experience. The members of Toto were generous with their time, signed whatever we have As for the music - they were on show number 100 of the 2015 tour. They were awesome. D

Yes was great but they need to bring back Jon Anderson! His voice is a huge part of the sound of Yes. The new guy did a pretty good job but there's only one Jon Anderson! The band played great even without Chris Squire , one of the all time greatest bass players.Steve Howe is amazing! Toto rocked! Their albums are kind of poppy , live they rock! Great guitar player and awesome vocals.

    Yes/Toto Concert

by Melody69 on 2015-09-15Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - Coquitlam

VERY disappointed. We love Toto and Yes and found that the sound mix, especially for Toto was horrible. We could hardly hear the vocals. After paying for "not cheap" tickets and travelling quite a distance to see them, it was not an enjoyable evening. We enjoyed listening to their music from their CD's much more than seeing them live. TOTAL DISASTER!

    Toto was unstoppable!

by BongoJ on 2015-09-15Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - Coquitlam

After waiting since 1979 to see Toto, I finally got to see these guys. What an incredible band. Lucky enough to actually meet the band - all so very humble and still after all these years, excited to be doing what they do. Probably most impressed with how immersed Steve P. gets into the music. His whole being is engulfed with rhythm and musicality. Not to take away from David or Luke - phenoms in their own right!! Can't say enough about how great it was to see Toto!! Yes, on the other hand, left me flat. I have seen them a couple of times before with different lineups. This one was by far the weakest. Steve Howe and Alan White looked tired and did not have the energy or spark I saw in previous shows. The one great thing about the show was Billy Sherwood. He really carried the Squire torch. He played well and even attempted some of Chris's moves. That said, maybe the loss of Chris has taken a bit of the spark out of Howe and White.

    Five Stars?!? Of Course!

by Totofan on 2014-08-11Tulalip Amphitheatre - Marysville, Washington

This was the second show of the current North American tour co-headlining with Michael McDonald. Personnel changes brought back the fantastic David Hungate, the original Toto bass player. It was obvious he'd been doing live and session work ever since as he was really laying it down and looked confident as well (despite standing back in the shadows a little on occasion). Drummer Shannon Forrest is also new to the touring version of the band this year, and while no Simon Phillips (or Jeff for that matter), he really put in a solid performance, 'in the pocket' as they say. Of all roles to jump into with this band, sitting behind the kit is probably the most daunting and I have to say Forrest did the job. Paich and Porcaro, funny and full of energy, flawless in their duties on piano and keyboards. It's such a pleasure to have these original members touring as well, I love the way they 'anchor' the stage, one on each side of the band. Joseph Williams continues to improve on vocals, and it's almost eerie as he was fantastic the last couple times I saw him perform. How he gets even 'better', maybe it's from all the live shows, I dunno'. Really, he's at the top of his game (though that's what I thought last year too). Luke, just insane. Everything looks effortless yet with so much passion and soul, my number one favorite guitar player, period. Funnier than hell onstage and off, he gets everyone laughing when he's not blowing us all away with his incendiary playing (to quote 'Almost Famous'). As for the show, they had to shorten it as both Toto and Michael McDonald were doing 75 minute sets, plus a 4 song encore at the end comprising both bands. Even so, they crammed a lot of great tunes in there and you'd never know this was the 2nd show of this current tour. Of course, that's always been what has made the band - and members - so great, the fact they could pretty much play anything with anyone with very little rehearsal time. Earlier in the year they sold out a couple shows in Japan, we're talking over 10,000 seats each time, so I felt very fortunate once again to see them in an intimate venue.

    They just keep getting better!

by Totofan on 2013-09-09Peppermill Concert Hall - West Wendover, NV

Hard to believe, but here it is - the 35th anniversary tour - and Toto sound as good and fresh as ever! It was a sold out show, around 1000 patrons and nobody was disappointed. The sound was fantastic, the energy was great and the band was tight, pretty darn close to the album experience. After all these years they really seem to still like each other, and though there have been some changes due to tragedies, illness, etc., this really is Toto, no doubt about it. If you want to see musicians at the absolute top of their game, see Steve Lukather, Steve Porcaro, Simon Phillips, David Paich, Joseph Williams and Nathan East (just Google the names and you will not believe how many albums they've played on). Incredible.

    Back together in the USA!

by Totofan on 2012-09-30Ovation at Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa & Casino - Henderson

I felt very privileged to have the opportunity to see the band on US soil, one of the very few concerts that has been performed here in the past 5 years or so. Unlike their shows in Europe - of which there have been several - the few US dates draw maybe 10% of the fans. While these may lack the excitement of the big arena events, the intimacy, intensity and excellent seating and sound more than make up for this. With Joseph Williams back in the line up it was great to finally hear him belt out his versions - the original versions - of many famous Toto tunes (Pamela, Stop Loving You, etc.). He even nailed Human Nature, which is really a Toto song that was 'lent' to Michael Jackson. Luke, Simon Phillips, Steve Porcaro, David Paich, and guest bassist Nathan East all brought their 'A' games, bringing that serious groove that we all know and love. Of course Luke engaged in some hilarious banter with the other musicians - especially Paich - which made the show even that much more fun to watch. 12 songs performed, about 1:40 if I remember correctly. As an aside, despite the fact that these are some of the most sought after session musicians ever, and have won numerous Grammys and sold tens of millions of albums as Toto - they still come out after the show and sign autographs. I was also very fortunate to take in the sound check and met the band and it was hard to believe they could be so kind and humble. I'll always go out of my way to see Toto, in whatever incarnation they show up in. Looking forward to a 35th Anniversary tour or ?!?
