    Touchdown Atlantic

by Manitoba CFL Fan on 2023-08-01

I enjoyed Halifax and area e.g. seafood chowder. While the game wasn’t that close, the fans around me were great and it felt like a mini Grey Cup with fans from across Canada. There were long slow lines at the food concessions. Perhaps there could be a few more vendors and payment could be cashless. Thanks to the teams and organizers.

    Great turnout!

    by Mike P on 2023-08-01

An overall great experience and it was nice to see a full stadium! My only criticism is that the sound system was very difficult to make out due to excessive echoing

    Football Good / Stadium Sucked

    by Jerome on 2023-08-01

Although the game wasn't tight, I like the CFL product. The out of town fans (Argo n Rider) made the atmosphere fun. -The temporary stadium was awful. Aluminum bench seating for hours was painful on the butt. -Not enough concessions to accommodate the crowd. My seat mates left two minutes before half to get drinks.. n the didn't get back until 5min in third quarter. -Management only brainstormed selling beer in the stands near end of game to get rid of product. The event felt like a last min plan.

We need a stadium here in Halifax. Fantastic day … hoping to make an annual thing.

by NS CFL fan on 2023-08-01

What a fantastic time! The CFL is such a great league! We need our own team here in Halifax asap, and Huskies stadium is a perfect spot to do it! Let’s GO! Get it done, and give us the 10th team!

    Wolfville was better

    by IceQueen on 2023-08-01

I thought it was executed far more efficiently in Wolfville. Everything from the vendor and good areas, to transportation and traffic. Fewer lines, more booths, virtually same amount of people.

    TDA 2023

    by 2023 on 2023-08-01

Soooo. In my opinion. CFL had 2022 at Acadia far better set up. !!! 2023, Food venues and portable bathrooms were way to far away, No signage or minimal at best. Temporary bleachers were a safety hazard at 2023. No hand rails, felt wobbly. Ended up leaving early as we didn’t want to get caught up in the lack of people and vehicle traffic control. Was extremely hungry, as food venues were to far away. We ate off Campus for that reason. Love going to TDAtlantic. Hope 2024 is better organized.

It's always fun when your team wins!

    by Nancy on 2023-08-01

I love it when the CFL comes to town. Someday we may be big enough to afford to have our own team, but for now, I'm just happy the Argos come to town every year! Despite the really long lineup, accessing the space went quickly and smoothly. Some signage might have helped point people in the direction of their seats, but we did read the pre-game emails and had a decent idea where we were going. Loved the food truck corral and that there were beverage vendors in different places around campus, thus getting us out of the really long lines at the big beverage tent. As always, the prices were usurious. The swag tent was too small and the swag was overpriced ($51 for a $5 cotton T-shirt? Seriously??). The bleacher seating was OK; I'll bring a pillow next time. My biggest complaint is about the sound system. The MC was pretty much indecipherable. Somehow the referee and announcer were understandable. Overall, a fun time was had by everyone in my group. Can't wait for next year!

    Slow entrance line

    by Johnny Argo on 2023-08-01

The lineup to get in was painfully slow. Security had 1 handheld metal scanner which took a long time. Was there with ample time but missed kickoff and the first scoring play. Beer was $13! C’mon man!

    Awesome

    by Rose on 2023-08-01

Hospitality was great. The game was fun. However the event was not well organized as far as food (slow to nil service) and bus service. Not enough busses after the game.

Really great to see CFL football but some major dealbreakers

    by k-didz on 2023-08-01

Loved the chance to watch a CFL game in Halifax; the tailgate party was super fun; and the food truck selection was good. Dealbreakers: - bathroom situation: it was unacceptable that for the bulk of fans, you had to walk to basically another venue to access the port-a-potties; - no water filling stations - this is dangerous; plastic bottles TERRIBLE for environment and completely unnecessary in this case; should have access to free potable water (period). CPL, QMJHL, and NLL games all have that. Needs Improvement (but not deal breakers): - restricted EXITING: I understand funneling people in through gates closest to their seats; but 9-10k people funneling out in one direction? Just silly. Security refused to let us through the exit closest to us because it was through the (cheaper) party zone area (after the game ended/everything closed) and then lied to us that there was no gate there at all Nice to improve (not needs improvement): - only one bar during tailgate - bars ran out of MANY items (including water) after people waiting in line for lengthy periods - at the end of the game they announced a shuttle from the field to the major transit hubs... but they didn't offer this getting TO the game; and they didn't advertise the shuttle in advance (the specifically asked people to use ride shares and take regular public transit though)

    Phenomenal atmosphere

    by Cody James on 2023-08-01

Alot to love about touchdown Atlantic, easy and quick lines to get into the venue at St.Marys, the atmosphere was absolutely phenomenal and access to beverages were very easy. My only gripe was the access to bathrooms, you had to walk way too far to get to them, the parking lot where the tailgate was held, and missed portions of the game that wouldn't have been missed had more washrooms been placed closer to the gates. Other than that it was an amazing experience.

    Touchdown Atlantic

    by A Simmons on 2023-08-01

What an amazing time! I had a wonderful time with my family at a well planned event. There were a couple of things that we wished were different, but there’s always something to improve. Things ran smoothly and timely. It would have been nice for young players to be able to get autographs from some of the players, but that has nothing to do with Ticketmaster. We will definitely be looking at tickets for the next game!

    Inadequate facilities

    by Rider fan on 2023-08-01

The bleachers constructed were so tight that the entire row had to move in order to get in or out of your seat. Knees jabbing into backs. washroom facilities a half a mile away. Poor signage. Too few volunteers to help you find your way. Massively long lineups at concessions. Big bottlenecks of people. Too many people there to get drunk and party, ignoring the game.

    Excellent

    by Ben Kenobe on 2023-08-01

Great product. Well organised and super fun. Love to see the CFL have a permanent home in NS. St. Mary's seems like a great option.
