About

Driving guitar solos and throbbing rhythms make up the heavy metal produced by Orlando-based metalcore outfit Trivium. Since their start in 2000, the four-member band has sold more than a million albums and toured alongside other big-ticket metal acts like Iron Maiden, As I Lay Dying and GWAR.

Their most recent effort, “Vengeance Falls,” surfaced in October 2013 and landed at No. 15 on The Billboard 200, as well as in the Top 10 on Japanese and Australian album charts. Along with a discography of six full-length records and a healthy U.S. tour history, Trivium has also handled concerts throughout Europe, Japan and Australia.

For the 2006 collection “The Crusade,” Trivium frontman Matt Heafy took a slight departure from his metalcore scream to deliver more traditional singing vocals that some compared to Metallica. That album debuted at No. 25 on The Billboard 200, and Heafy went back to his signature scream for the follow-up, 2008’s “Shogun,” and subsequent releases.

It was an insane show. The supporting bands worked really hard, and Trivium blew everyone else out of the water. They are fantastic performers and really connect with the fans and stand behind their material. I would highly recommend going to see Trivium live for any metal fans.

Heard mixed reviews last time they were in town, i think they showed what they're really about last night. I'll remember that concert forever, was epic when Matthew came down to the crowd! Excited for the new record to come out!

  • Trivium proove that they are the kings of metal.

It's hard to describe when a band you love so much takes the stage before your very eyes, the adrenaline rush that comes with it is almost palpable. When Trivium hit the stage at the Sound Academy on November 12, they brought with them pure energy, talent and enjoyment. Without a doubt, they are the new generation of heavy metal gods and to not see them live is not to understand them at all. It's a band that must be experienced live to appreciate their sheer brilliance; the complicated yet powerful riffs, the brutal/melodic songs, all complemented by a thousand screaming fans singing and banging along to every song, makes for a night that will resonate with you until you see them again.

  • Trivium went all out!

by DrewJB on 2009-09-17Cowboys Bar - GuelphRating: 5 out of 5

Although I'm in excessive pain now from moshing (Feels like my back was hit by a frieght train, I have a migrane from whiplash and I may have broken my hand.) I still think the concert as a whole was excellent! the energy was flowing, the bands all played very well, Trivium in particular seemed to never miss a note. The croud was going nuts for all of the bands. The croud seemed to deminish a bit after White Chapel's performance but it picked back up after Trivium took the stage. Great concert all in all.

  • Trivium Darkest Hour and Whitechapel!!

by Slinkyswan on 2009-09-17Cowboys Bar - GuelphRating: 5 out of 5

Trivium Darkest Hour and Whitechapel ripped up the stage! The crowd was amazing for a smaller venue like Cowboy's Bar. Meet and Greets were avaliable throughout the show after sets and after the show. Sounded amazing and the atmosphere was ace.

  • Whitechapel and Trivium rip it up

First was Dirge Within. Although I've never actually heard of them I was pleasantly surprised at their style of music. Not crazy heavy much but definitely some good material. After their set, Darkest Hour played. I've seen them once before - they always deliver a good show (and with such tight musicians how could they not?). so after they were done rockin the place, it was Whitechapel's turn. These guys are the main reason I went - I love Whitechapel's new album This is Exile like a child. This week I've listened to the entire album (not to mention Somatic Defilement) at least 20 times through. I CANNOT get sick of this album. So they came out and started with the title track This is Exile which was totally bomb. I was so stoked that I had a chance to see Whitechapel finally. The singer Phil was a surprisingly small guy, but he commanded the crowd like a Mastodon. After ripping through a set (including Somatically Incorrect, Possession, Vicer Exciser, and Eternal Refuge) they called it a day. Couldn't have been more impressed with Whitechapel (but I could have been more impressed with the sound guy). Then Trivium came on. I'm not a HUGE Trivium fan although I am familiar with most of their music. I've seen them 3 or 4 times now, but this performance was much better. It seemed Matt wasn't getting as angry or frustrated as he usually does at shows, and the crowd was loving them. They played a few tunes off Ascendancy, Shogun, and surprised the crowd with a set list than included at least 3 songs from Ember to Inferno. At one point in the set, I was standing beside Matt (he came down while playing his guitar into the crowd) and we made a circle around him while he soloed. They played Pull Harder last of course, and ended on a very metal note. Overall sick concert, and some very talented bands.
