About

Snipe Hunter cements Tyler Childers' status as an American original: a songwriter with a strong grasp of Appalachian tradition, a storyteller alive to the hard-bitten humor and absurdity of country life, and a singer who jumps from a feral growl to an intimate croon in less time that it takes him to reload. With the latest album release, Childers further establishes himself as "one of country music's most compelling and unpredictable artists" (Associated Press), as he puts forth a collection of thirteen songs that showcases the signature artistry he's cultivated throughout his esteemed career, while continuing to push his own creative boundaries.

Produced by Rick Rubin with additional production from Childers and Sylvan Esso's Nick Sanborn and mixed by Shawn Everett, the project consists mostly of brand-new songs in addition to fan favorites, "Oneida" and "Nose on the Grindstone," the latter of which just achieved Childers' best week ever at country radio with over 40 adds.

"One of his generation's most important voices" (Rolling Stone), Childers has released five acclaimed albums to date including his 2017 RIAA Platinum debut, Purgatory, 2019's #1 Country Squire and 2023's Rustin' In The Rain, which debuted at #10 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The record features seven tracks including the 2x Grammy, VMA and ACM-nominated single, "In Your Love," which, since its release, has garnered over 13.7 million video views, 215 million on-demand streams and received overwhelming praise from outlets such as NPR Music, Rolling Stone, Billboard, USA Today, Pitchfork, Stereogum and many more. Childers has also performed countless sold-out shows across the world and been featured on CBS Mornings, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, NPR Music's "Tiny Desk Concert" series and Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.

Known for his electric live shows, Childers and his band The Food Stamps--James Barker (guitar, pedal steel), Craig Burletic (bass), CJ Cain (guitars), Kory Caudill (keyboards), Rodney Elkins (drums), Matt Rowland (keyboards) and Jesse Wells (guitar, fiddle)--will tour through this fall with his extensive "Tyler Childers On The Road Tour," which includes upcoming stops New York's Forest Hills Stadium (two nights), Nashville's GEODIS Park (two nights) and London's O2 Arena among many others.

  • Awesome show, incredibly talented band!

by Zil on 2024-09-01Rating: 5 out of 5

I saw Tyler Childers at the Saddledome in Calgary, and while it’s not my favourite venue Tyler and his band put on an amazing show. Allison Russell was the opener and she’s so genuine and kind- really lovely vocalist and performer. Then Tyler and his band hit the stage and gave us an incredible night of live music. Played some new stuff, played some old hits. Great mix in the setlist- my personal fave was the mini solo acoustic set in the middle. I also want to emphasize how affordable the tickets were(no official platinum/dynamic pricing, and only face value resale allowed) and it makes me want to support an artist even more when they seem to genuinely care about their fans. All that to say, go to a Tyler Childers show, you won’t regret it.

  • 10/10

by Ssisarah on 2024-08-12Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I have had a string on bad concerts this past year but this was not one of them. This show was amazing and I would go see again and again. We are four days later and me and my husband are still talking about how good the music was, the band was incredible, Tyler sounded exactly the way you hear him when listing at home 10/10 he is a fantastic entertainer. Rogers was easy to navigate and the ushers were very helpful. By far the best concert I’ve been to so far.
