    Culture at it's best

by PD_Belle on 2024-02-22Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Having the chance to see the Ukrainian National Ballet and Edmonton Shumka on stage together was just AMAZING. Being able to contribute to the rebuilding efforts was important as well.

Great ballet - not so great seats

by Moi on 2024-02-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Re Jubilee Auditorium - don't choose seats in row C on the main floor - these seats are at the bottom of the tiered section and have 2 rows in front that seem to rise in front of you so that the C row seats are the worst for viewing the stage. The Ukrainian National ballet was wonderful - I especially loved the energetic and best-I've-ever-seen Shumka dance with combined Edmonton Shumka dance company and Ukrainian national ballet dancers together. I thought some of the cost of the expensive tickets would have gone to support the Ukrainian humanitarian effort but it didn't.

    World Class

by Ives on 2024-02-13Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The National Ballet of Ukraine is one of the best ballet ensembles in the world and these dancers showed why. The select pas de deux were outstanding and left the audience mesmerized. A spectacular world class program brilliantly executed.

    The evening was magical

by Ballet Lover on 2024-02-13Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

As above the evening was magical but the ticket part is f the event was a FIASCO! The messaging from Ticketmaster and information I received was erroneous then my seats were changed to ones that were VERY subpar. I bought my tickets for the February 9 performance within two days of this event being advertised. At the very least it would have been nice to offer those of us who were forced to switch nights to have an early opportunity to choose our replacement seats instead of opening it up to the general public and switching us willy nilly with ABSOLUTELY no regard to what we had originally chosen. . Then ON TOP OF THAT we had to pick up our tickets at the Will Call booth… our replacement tickets ( after we were told repeatedly that our original seating would be honoured) we’re not sent to us electronically… the line up at the Will Call was incredibly long and was an absolute detractor to the excitement of seeing such an incredible performance. You owe us all a very big apology and compensation.

    National Ballet of Ukraine

by BT on 2024-02-13Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

My three guests from Vancouver and I were thrilled to be in the audience to watch the National Ballet of Ukraine perform. The enthusiasm from the entire audience was obvious. We were all there to watch this very talented group of dancers perform some wonderful pieces, but also to show our support for them and their countrymen as they endure the horrific and unjustified destruction of their homeland by Russia. I thought the individual ballet performances were excellent, professional and well choreographed and each was thoroughly enjoyed by our foursome. The additional bonus to the evening's event was watching Edmonton's Ukrainian Shumka Dancers perform. What an energized, talented group they are. It was indeed a truly memorable evening.

Ukrainian Ballet is the best ballet I have ever watch.

by Olena on 2024-02-13Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I enjoyed a classic ballet from Ukraine. It was sad and gorgeous in the same time. However I was very disappointed when I saw Shumka in the end with funny music and dance. I think this event was not about fun. It was about compassion to Ukrainians who are in the danger to be killed every day in their country. People in Canada also need to feel the pain about Ukraine not only fun. I liked the Ballet but I left Shumka dance.
