Uncle Waffles is a South African DJ/producer described by Billboard as the “princess of amapiano” — a South African subgenre of dance music. Waffles’ meteoric rise has taken her from South Africa’s DJing circuit to earning a cosign from Drake and becoming the first amapiano artist to perform at Coachella. Uncle Waffles (born Lungelihle Zwane) rose to prominence not only for her DJing skills, but for the hypnotic dance moves she showcased in a viral clip from October 2021 (which turned her into a trending topic on Twitter). In March 2022, Waffles released her first single, “Tanzania (feat. Tony Duardo, Sino Msolo and Boibizza),” a No. 1 hit in South Africa that Waffles included on her 2022 debut EP Red Dragon. “Tanzania” was also ranked No. 1 on Rolling Stone’s list of the Top 40 Best Afropop Songs of 2022. In March 2023, Waffles released her second EP, ASYLUM, and continues to tour worldwide.

    Disappointed after enduring the rain to see my favorite artist, she did not show up. While I understand that things happen, an update beforehand would have been appreciated so I didn't have to waste my time and monet coming.

    Very disorganized

    It was so sad to see that Amaarae’s dj was left to fend for herself when she was setting up her equipment. 10-15 mins was wasted on getting set up with no help from the organizers. The other dj also left the stage at one point where there was no control over the music.

    Uncle Waffles cancelled last minute and the organizer didn’t really provide an update so it was a lot of confusion and ridiculousness on the organizers end. Amaarae did amazing tho, shout out to her.

    No headliner and terrible unknown acts

    Uncle waffles didn’t show up, doors didn’t open till 8:45 and show didn’t start till 9:30, had to watch very lame local acts until 11:30 till Amaarae came out and her set was only 30 minutes and very low energy. I want my money back this show was really bad
