Tyla is an Afropop and R&B singer from Johannesburg, South Africa. She released her debut single, “Getting Late,” in 2019 shortly after graduating from high school. The success of the song led her to sign to Epic Records, and her first public performance took place at the 2023 Milan Fashion Week Dolce & Gabbana afterparty. Later in 2023, Tyla unveiled “Water” as the lead single off her forthcoming self-titled debut album. The seductive track birthed a viral TikTok dance challenge and earned Tyla not only her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, but also a GRAMMY nomination for Best African Music Performance. Tyla is set to be released on March 1, 2024.
