Vampire Weekend is a two-time Grammy-winning alternative rock band currently composed of frontman Ezra Koenig, bassist Chris Baio and drummer Chris Tomson. Emerging from the mid-aughts indie rock scene in New York City out of Columbia University, Vampire Weekend released their self-titled debut to immediate critical and commercial success in 2008, with the album debuting at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 and its breakout single “A-Punk” earning an RIAA platinum certification. The band’s 2010 follow-up Contra confirmed their ascent after debuting atop the Billboard 200, while the single “Cousins” became their first song to hit the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The band’s 2013’s effort Modern Vampires of the City similarly topped the Billboard 200 and garnered the band’s first Grammy Award. 2019’s Father of the Bride became their third album to debut at No. 1, and the album’s high watermark came from lead single “Harmony Hall,” which reached a career-best No. 5 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The album netted the band its second Grammy, and Vampire Weekend’s 2019 North American tour saw the band perform some of their biggest shows to date, including Madison Square Garden in New York.

Great energy. Awesome crowd involvement. Fun jams and covers. Lots of heart.
Incredible show, loved every second! They played toll the bitter end! Set list was awesome!
Played all the hits from all their albums. Even took requests! Hope they come back soon.
Loved every minute! Even took requests at the end!
9 years since they performed a convert in Vancouver...worth the wait!
I had high expectations for this show. 4 great albums, ok the last one clearly has more than a few fillers, but enough good material to pack a solid 1h30 to 1h45 of relentless hit after hit euphoria. But that's NOT what we got last Sunday in Montreal. What we got is a self indulgent 2h15 set of a legacy band playing just for themselves. A legacy band such as this one owes it to its loyal fans to play the hits that got them there. Not 7 minute versions of the most boring songs on their new album. And 8 minute cover songs of Bob Dylan. And an extended version of an obscure collaboration with SBTRK? Come on!? Did we really need to hear that after a 6 year hiatus? They frustratedly played A-PUNK twice because a fan shouted it as a request even though they hay had already played it! They CHOSE to play it twice because so many other songs were being requested!!! Take away all this nonsense and they could have played: OXFORD COMMA, I THINK UR A CONTRA, MANSARD ROOF, GIVING UP THE GUN, DIPLOMAT'S SON, WALCOTT and by far the best song off FOTB, SYMPATHY!!! Just to name a few... Added to the fact that the venue was way too packed, horrible sound at Mtelus (as always) and an awful and overpriced merch selection. A solid, 1h45 set, without the self-indulgence, at Place Bell in Laval or an other larger venue would have been a better night I am sure.
I’ve been a longtime fan of Vampire Weekend, but never had the pleasure of seeing them live — they truly did not disappoint. I have never had an experience quite like this. The music was not only phenomenally done, but they really put on a show that got the entire crowd involved, especially when taking requests for the encore. I’ve seen some of the best artists live and these guys — Ezra especially — were just outstanding.
I was hesitant if the show will go on in Toronto at Echo Beach due to the rain, but the show did go on and it was amazing! We had a great time dancing in the rain to all their hits! Love this band!
My son is a huge fan. I have always loved their tunes. The show blew me away. Solid performance and a full 2 hr set We need more Vampire Weekend's
I finally got the chance to see Vampire Weekend, and I was not disappointed one bit. They are even better live than they are recorded. I love how musically talented the band is as a whole, and the intricacy of their music with all of the different background sounds. They definitely put on a great performance! The only downfall I would say is that with an indie/alternative band like this, you get a lot of wannabe hipsters that are really irritating in a crowd. Otherwise, great experience overall.
Front loaded with newer songs and filled with so many solos. End of the set has older stuff, but it took a while to get there. There was also very little speaking to the crowd, which (combined with the solos) felt like they were just jamming together at home instead of putting in a performance.
Vampire Weekend put on an awesome show - the band would get 5/5. It was the venue that sucked - impossible to find a place to stand where you had a sight line of the stage. If you pushed your way to the front it was shoulder to shoulder and dancing fans meant bumping strangers. In order to even see the stage we had to move all the way behind the sound booth. They need to create a grade or not sell as many tickets. Even if it was my all time fave band I would really have to think about seeing them at this venue.
I saw these guys in 2013 at the Sony Centre, they didn’t talk to the crowd or play a ton of tracks, in fact they didn’t seem to really be happy to be there. As a huge fan of their three albums I was disappointed. Their most recent show on June 5th 2019 at Echo Beach was completely different. They took requests, made jokes, had a giant Earth behind them and within the crowd via floating balls, they were humble and thankful, they played a 2h15m set that featured old, new, and obscure. They even added to their songs by jamming them out. The set design was great, the music was impeccable, and the boys were stoked to be there. Vampire Weekend has truly grown into a incredible band and have evolved!
Excellent line up and sound quality at a guest friendly venue.
A fantastic concert. Played all their best songs from all three albums. A very tight band who clearly put a ton of energy into their performance. Vampire Weekend were awesome - Cold Specks: meh, not so much.
Vampire Weekend brings so much energy to the stage. This performance was at the Jubilee in Calgary, which is a sitting venue and more associated with operas and ballets and orchestras. Vampire Weekend made the venue into a dance hall within the first few minutes of the show! Everyone was up and dancing in their seats, you just can't help it.
I love it when you go to a concert and the band sounds better live than on the album. The Jubilee has great acoustics so the sound was top shelf. Can't wait to see these guys again.
Loved Vampire Weekend, but they should have had a longer performance time and Cold Specks should have been left out in the cold! They were awful as a band, but the singer on her own has a great voice, but the depressing, dirge-like sound was too much and went on far too long. When VW finally came on, it was like a breath of fresh air.
Vampire weekends sounds exactly the same as they do on record, if not better! They played so many songs and with very few breaks! Just song after song which was amazing. They talked very little, a couple stories or anecdotes would have been nice but I'm not complaining. Plus the sound in the jubilee is just awesome. Definitely recommended.
Great band, great show well worth seeing! The Jubilee auditorium in Calgary is absolutely a perfect room for musical acts.
