Seeing a comedian at the height of their powers is always a pleasure! Wanda Sykes dealt with many difficult topics with laser precision and a sweet lemon perspective well suited to the times. Being an art best suited to intimate spaces, comedy in large venues can be a tricky negotiation. Wanda’s energy and physicality still carried to the 2nd balcony but those in the nosebleeds do sacrifice the gifts of her expression in being so far from the stage. A delight.

  • Wanda and her Guest Keith were awesome!

Hilarious! Loved it! She was soooooo funny. And even though we had to secure our phones, it was all pretty seamless due to the great organization of the people running the event.

  • I really enjoyed this performance!

Hilarious commentary on current events, hits the nail on the head with every punchline. I laughed so hard I cried and/or lost my breath. So so funny and would definitely see her again and again!

Wow! Best comedy show I saw this year! Everything she said was funny. I follow the horror of what is happening in the United States but love her comedic take on everything tRump.

  • A good show

Unfortunately thee sound system at the Queen Elizabeth in Vancouver was a bit dodgy which obscured some of the punch lines. Also, the first part of the show was an overview of the American political situation which Canada is very well informed on, and is far from funny. Overall the show was good.

  • Great show

I enjoyed the show but must say the sound wasn’t the greatest. Many of her jokes I was unable to understand as it was garbled. But all in all it was fun.

  • Great evening, tons of laughs

We've never been to Queen Elizabeth Theatre before, it was gorgeous inside and out. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. The place was packed for the evening we had. Things were running a little bit behind, but the capacity of people explains all that. Absolutely would visit again!

  • Wanda was Hilarious

Unexpected LONG line to get in the venue. Appeared disorganized with the locking up of phones/watches. Thank goodness it wasn’t raining. Ended up being late for opening act Keith Robinson even though at venue half an hour early. I understand Keith has had strokes…I honestly couldn’t understand one word he was saying. Sorry. As title indicates, Wanda WAS hilarious from start to finish. Great show.

Wanda Sykes and her opening act Keith Robinson are a wonderful pair of comedians. I love Wanda Sykes, she has the knack to deliver hilarious one line zingers that keeps her audience laughing out loud over and over again. Meridian Hall in Toronto Ontario was the perfect venue for this event. 2 hours of fun and laughter made for a great outing. Note: to the people who were interrupting the show and yelling out random things unrelated to the act, zip it or stay home and let others enjoy the show.

  • Wanda great - audience, not so much

by TEHS on 2024-09-23Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Very funny. Opening act and Wanda were fabulous. The mood was really great until hecklers started interrupting. Then the mood changed in the house. Still funny but it was a shame certain people in the audience felt a desire to be centre stage and that Wanda had break her flow to deal with these people. She's a superstar and shouldn't have to contend with this sort of stuff in her point of her career. This was my first time seeing her live and I would love to see her again under different circumstances.

  • Wanda Slayed it!!

by TamTam on 2024-09-23Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

When we got there, about 7:20, the line was incredible!! All around the corner. By the time we got in and seated, we missed approx. 15 min of the first act which was very disappointing as we were looking forward to seeing Keith Robinson. When Wanda came out it was amazing, she was amazing the show was amazing and I would totally come back and see her again!! Our seats were great. It was disappointing that we could not have a drink or anything before the show due to the massive line up and then a rush to our seats which we had to wait for an usher, who was so busy showing people to there seats as it was dark and dangerous to try and find our seats without help >> flashlight! After the show, once again, we had to wait outside in a crowd to find and get our phones released from the pouch instead of just leaving, that kinda sucked, but I do understand that part (no cell). Maybe just have more staff to release the phones?? So over all the show was great, but the waiting and missing part of the opening show really sucked. I paid for that and missed it as the theater was late to get everyone in there seats to watch the show when it started. :(

  • Wanda was fantastic, some audience members were embarassing

by Agatha on 2024-09-23Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Wanda was hilarious and classy as always. A couple trump supporters crashed to heckle and she handled them flawlessly. A couple other audience members were so drunk they embarrassed themselves and Wanda handed that like a pro too. I would definitely watch Wanda again. But could definitely do without the tacky drunk ass audience members. Hopefully they don't scare her off of coming back.
