As Kvitrafn said - these songs predate writing. They are pan-cultural - the language of the wilderness. Atavistic. Powerful.
Best performance and music I’ve ever experienced! I can’t wait to see them again one day 💖
deep resonating sounds, instruments from an ancient past, the primal beat of the drum.... Spellbound!
Great sound. Bone chilling singers. Great to hear different cultures of music - even if I don’t understand the language. Thoroughly enjoyed the show.
What an experience, I loved every second of the concert!
Absolute smash of an evening. Sounds better live than recorded. Loved the ideas around the use of background fabrics and lights to guide the atmosphere. Had chills running up and down my arms more than once. It was worth braving the pouring rain and wind, would go again without a doubt
Literally the best concert ever. The sound was amazing, the crowd was on fire. Everything about this concert was outstanding, I can't wait to see them again!
Never experienced this ancient music and instruments before - very cool !
Mind-blowing, affirming, sacred experience to watch them live! I was swept away by this experience.
This was the only show that survived multiple postponements during the pandemic with not a single cancelation. Over the course of that time Ive been listening to the band increasingly more and more and to finally see them live was absolutely perfect. Loved to see how their music was broken down into the various instruments (almost none of which I can properly identify) and see/hear how their vocals translated from recorded audio into 3d space. They’re such talented group and that show was one of the best I’ve ever seen.
Orpheum theatre was beautiful, Had Merchandise just outside the Orchestra seating. Crowd was great, totally sold out, but the performance by Wardruna was unbelievable. If you think the recorded versions are great, the live rendition was hauntingly beautiful. Loved every second and hope to see again!
Had the greatest experience ever watching Wardruna
The show was amazing Just like 2018, cant wait for next year and them to come back to Toronto.
I had excellent time great seats and enjoyed the different instruments used for this show. Roots or Culture music at its best Wrote the music for tbe Vikings series
I knew Wardruna is something you have to experience live, but I did not expect this to be even better than I imagined. The acoustics, the vocals, the visuals, the pure effort and raw talent that Wardruna pours into their performance is nothing short of phenomenonal and breath-taking. Worth every penny, I cannot wait for them to return to Toronto so I can go again and take even more family and friends to experience this gift. Not only that, the crowd was so great that they played two encore pieces. Toronto will always be their second home away from Norway.
It was an hour and an half of elevating and soulful music. The heart beat aligned with the rhythms of the ancient sounds of nature and human harmony. I could hear the bird songs, the tidal waves , the summer storms and some winter blizzards. I went home and I sang. I feel connected to my ancestors and nature -that was the most important message I have taken from Wardruna. Takk!
This concert was well worth the covid wait! The band put on an unforgettable show!!! I was amazed at how much was accomplished with the minimalist set and lighting. The band itself was otherworldly. I would definitely go see them again.
Wardruna put on an incredible show, there’s no other way to put it. The music, talent, and audience interaction were more than you could ask for. They really create an experience. There was a mixup where the doors opened at 7:00 to get into the venue, but not until 8:00 to get your seat, and the show started at 8:30. Not a huge deal, but created some confusion.
I thought the concert was excellent. Their performance did not disappoint - in fact - it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I would have preferred and this is in no way the group’s fault was to have not advertised that the concert was at 7pm when in fact it was scheduled to begin at 8:30. Otherwise, the amazing energy in the concert hall, the length of the show and their music was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. Come back again soon Wardruna, please!!!
