Multiple Emmy Award-winning and Grammy Award- nominated Wayne Brady has made his mark on stage and screen as an actor, producer, singer, dancer, songwriter, and television personality.
A true multi-hyphenate, Brady's career path and personal life journey, has helped him see the world in a unique way. His aspirations have always gone beyond solely starring in various entertainment projects, and under his Makin' It Up Productions banner, he's set out to create new content across different platforms that showcase innovation and inclusivity in fun and powerful ways.
A five-time Emmy winner (the first to win Daytime and Primetime awards in two consecutive years), Brady has an impressive TV resume including Whose Line Is It Anyway? The Masked Singer, Black Lighting, The Good Fight and Showtime's American Gigolo- each spotlighting different aspects of his immense talent.
In addition to being a force in front of the camera, Brady is heavily active behind the scenes wearing the hats of host & executive producer for Let's Make A Deal, Game of Talents and Comedy IQ, which he also co-created. All of this following on the heels of the success of his award-winning daytime talk show The Wayne Brady Show.
Long an accomplished singer and performer, Brady's musical acumen has always been a personal passion and he used that as fuel to help win the second season of The Masked Singer. Off his victory, Brady dropped a brand-new original single, entitled "Flirtin' w/ Forever," which quickly climbed the streaming charts, as well as an accompanying music video.
This follows the success of his debut album which was headlined by a version of Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come" which earned him a Grammy Award nomination in the Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance category.
Brady has also triumphed on-stage started with his Broadway debut starring as legal showman 'Billy Flynn' in the long-running hit musical, "Chicago." Soon after Brady starred as the ground-breaking character 'Lola' in "Kinky Boots," Broadway's Tony Award- winning Best Musical, with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein. Brady would later assume his biggest theatrical role to date headlining as 'Aaron Burr' in the Chicago production of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony Award- winning juggernaut "Hamilton."
Recently Brady returned to Broadway as part of Freestyle Love Supreme working with the production team of Lin-Manuel Miranda, Thomas Kail, and Anthony Veneziale. The unique show combines the fusion of hip hop, improv, and comedy which won it a special Tony Award for its innovation and contributions to the world of theater. Earlier this year he announced he will again partner with the Freestyle Love Supreme team as well as Speechless to create "FLS+," a new company committed to making improv globally accessible.
Brady's career evolution has also expanded to TikTok, amassing a stellar following in a short period of time. Whether utilizing social media to raise awareness to important social issues or collaborating with his extended family, the medium has helped him continue to reach and interact with new fans in surprising and innovative ways.
Wayne Brady currently resides in Los Angeles.
What a talent!!!! Singing, dancing and funny, very, very funny!!!!
Spontaneous humour. Though there were a few cuss words, the act did not depend on it. I enjoyed the good clean humour.
Great seats - tickets are listed as obstructed, but the obstruction was a glass partition. Big screens - no problem viewing the show. Lots of laughs Ran about 1 hour Improv at its best Lots of skits. Ideas taken from Who's Line... Good time. Every show would be different.
impressive ability to do improve from ridiculous scenarios. Wayne and team we funning and entertaining the whole time. His musical talents are outstanding!
Sorry, Wayne- really not your best effort. I loved seeing you in Vegas- those shows (Making Shit Up) were great- this show, not so much. Get rid of your sidekick- he adds nothing. I probably won't pay to see you again.
Show was fantastic from the first moment they came on stage. Absolutely entertaining, extremely funny, was well worth the drive to see Wayne! Constant laughs brought tears to my eyes!! Would go back again in a heart beat! Waynes ability to improv is second to none! Brilliant!!
Amazing! Hilarious! Sexy! Fantastic show and night thanks to Wayne and Jonathan!
The show was good but much too short. For the cost of the tickets and the time it took to travel there, I would not recommend it. The show was a little over an hour.
We had so much fun and laughed a lot. It was all improve and so good. Wayne is amazing and creative. Loved it. Would recommend it to anyone. He even handled a tough situation of stereotyping question from the audience.
Absolutely a hilarious show. ...we'll worth seeing. I would definitely go again.
Just an exceptional show. Full of laughs and audience participation. I saw Brady in Vegas as well almost ten years ago. He brought the same energy and excitement to Seneca. If you like to laugh, you will like this show.
Great. The seating layout is terrible. All seats at the same level couldn't see stage. It's the ball room with a bunch of chairs in a row. Only four doors to get in and out. Bottle necks everywhere after show.
As always, Wayne and his co-comedian were excellent. That said, the show was less than an hour and a half. I suppose you should always leave the audience wanting more, but a two-hour show would have been nice, and that is why I did not give a five-star rating.
Wayne Brady was awesome, he gets the audience fully engulfed in everything he is doing on stage, makes it very fun and interactive for everyone. We had a great time and would definitely recommend seeing him to everyone we know.
Wayne Brady was great, but the accompanying music was too loud and the bass was set too high, which caused the words to be unrecognizable, particularly during the songs (which there were many of). We were disappointed, not by the show (which seemed to be very funny!), but by the lack of sound quality in a show where understanding words is essential.
Wayne, Jonathan and Cat were great! The way Wayne can take material from the audience and immediately mold it into something universally funny is wonderful. What a talent he has! My only complaint was that it was too short (but that's easy to say from a seat - I'm sure it was long enough to have to draw on your talent!). Would definitely go and see him (them) again. And, what a great singer he is!
very entertaining 90 minutes of improv...his partner was also quite talented...no complaints whatsoever
Amazing, The seats the show and the prices ! Wayne had most of us in tears laughing,
I saw Wayne Brady perform about 10 years ago and he's still just as funny and talented. I brought my wife who isn't into improv comedy at all and she was laughing the whole time. I wish he would come to Toronto more often!
Second time seeing Wayne in Ottawa. First time was MUCH better, couldn't stop laughing then. This time, not so much. There were some good parts but there were also some slow parts, especially the singing - the song he did as Prince seemed to go on much too long. The show was very short, by the time he actually got on stage and then it was over, not even 1.5 hrs in length, no encore although the crowd tried, the house lights came up right away. Acoustics seemed off - the piano at times drowned out what Wayne was saying - it made a lot of the jokes too hard to hear and the song lyrics really hard to hear.
