Whitney Cummings on Tour

Whitney Cummings is a Los Angeles-based comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. Best known for creating and starring in the NBC series "Whitney," she also co-created and co-wrote (with Michael Patrick King) the Emmy-nominated CBS comedy series "2 Broke Girls."

In November of this year, Whitney launched her own podcast titled "Good For You." Whitney has a lot of questions for a lot of different kinds of people. She also has opinions. And a robot. "Good For You" is self-produced by Whitney alongside Made By Super and records in Los Angeles. New episodes are released on Wednesdays.

Whitney debuted her 4th stand up special, "Can I Touch It?" on Netflix on July 30th. The special includes Whitney's signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics is more relevant than ever. Filmed at the Sidney Harmon Hall in her hometown, Washington, DC. The special touches Whitney's take on everything including her signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics and why we should give sex robots a chance.

Up next, Whitney will star and executive produce a new half-hour comedy for Amazon, "Good People" which she co-created alongside Lee Daniels. The show revolves around three generations of women working in the ombudsman's office of a college that navigates the current cultural climate, the concept of feminism across different generations, and the struggle to reconcile socially constructed ideas with current ethical views regarding complex issues such as sec, race, class and gender.

In October 2017, Whitney debuted her novel "I'm Fine...And Other Lies," which details her brutal anxiety and codependency disorder, written with her trademark entertaining wit, humor, and honesty. That same year, Whitney made her directorial debut with the feature adaptation of Louann Brizendine's best-seller, "The Female Brain". In addition to co-writing and directing, she stars alongside Sofia Vergara, James Marsden, Lucy Punch, Toby Kebbell, Cecily Strong, Beanie Feldstein, and Blake Griffin. "The Female Brain" comically details the inner workings and complex power of brain chemistry among couples at different stages of their relationships. The film premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was distributed by IFC.

On the big screen, Whitney was last seen in "Unforgettable" for Warner Bros. Past feature film credits include "The Wedding Ringer," "Made of Honor," and "The Ridiculous Six." Whitney has appeared in such series as "Undateable," "Workaholics," "Maron" and the Comedy Central Roasts, which have solidified her presence in comedy television.

Her first one-hour stand up special, "Money Shot," premiered on Comedy Central in August 2010 and was nominated for an American Comedy Award. Her second one-hour stand-up special, "Whitney Cummings: I Love You," debuted on Comedy Central in June 2014. Her third one-hour stand-up special "I'm Your Girlfriend," aired on HBO in 2016.

I guess not every night is Laugh Out Loud…

by T.M. on 2023-04-30Grey Eagle Event Centre - Calgary

It was easy to find out seats - however Grey Eagle could invest in more comfortable options for floor seats - they are just over used banquet chairs that don’t have any padding left in them, so uncomfortable after 20-30 minutes. The videos promoting Whitney Cummings Podcast at the beginning were fun and provided some laughs along the way. The opener (I have forgotten her name) was funny, and I felt was one of the better openers I’ve seen in a long time. The main act, Whitney Cummings, was a bit of a let down. I saw her recently at the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival, and her performance there drew me to buy tickets to this show. I found she either wasn’t prepared, or just gave up early into the show. It started with one very long rant/joke on trans people and then she seemed off put by the crowd reaction so then proceeded to walk the crowd for over an hour, the odd giggle from crowd comments, she went back on stage for one more joke/story and was done. I don’t know if the photo op at the end of the show was supposed to be factored in for the length of the show - anyone could walk up to the stage and snap a selfie - wasn’t really organized just Whitney yelling into a mic instructions to have your phone out and have people ready… just a bit of a let down from a comedy show, would have liked more jokes straight from Whitney Cummings herself, less crowd stuff.

Best evening ever! First ever comedy show and I couldn’t have picked a better person to see. The experience was phenomenal. I loved how Whitney interacted with the crowd and did a meet and greet after her show. Very down to earth person and comedy was top notch! I’ll 10/10 see her again!

Had a blast with a few friends. I've seen Whitney's Netflix shows and loved them but nothing beats a live performance. Venue was great too!

    So - So

by Johnny BDB on 2023-04-28Grey Eagle Event Centre - Calgary

Whitney had some decent material for the first 30 minutes, then she spent the last 45 minutes talking to random people in the crowd. They would spot light a person and she walked through the aisles then jammed a mic in their face and would ask a question (what do you do for work etc). It was funny for 5 minutes not the other 40. She seemed over her tour, I believe Calgary was the last stop, Whitney had some energy but wasn't top notch. It was so-so. I could of gotten a better experience watching her special on Netflix and saving $$$.

    Bap Bap Bap

by Jessie on 2023-04-28Grey Eagle Event Centre - Calgary

She is hilarious and just never skips beat. And despite the audience being the most boring and non-engaging people, she still made it entertaining. The photos afterwards were a fantastic idea to make it quick and fun. Would come back to see her anytime.

    Fun night out in Calgary

by Sarah on 2023-04-28Grey Eagle Event Centre - Calgary

Show was fun. Crowd was tough…there is no doubt she tried her hardest but fell a little flat towards the crowd bits of the show. Also, took the event people a very long time to figure out the spotlight, so that was interesting. Venue was good.

    She’s funny…but.

by Pete on 2023-04-28Grey Eagle Event Centre - Calgary

First off, I really like Whitney Cummings and was pumped to see her. Her opening act was AWESOME, and I wish her set was longer. Whitney was full of energy and animated, and got the quiet crowd energized. She focused on two main topics that were / are currently big in the news which is great but unfortunately the topics have been so overblown by the media in recent months I kind of found hearing more about the subject matter completely exhausting and nauseating. I came to her show looking for an escape, for some laughs to separate me from how idiotic the world has become, not to be reminded of them. Sadly, the last 20-30mins of her show she spent wandering through the audience asking random ppl what they did for a living. Again, I paid for a night of laughter and to escape the everyday routine, not listen to some overzealous soccer mom brag that she’s a veterinarian technician, or some middle aged dude talk about being an accountant. I found the last 30mins of the show fricken boring. I really don’t care what the dorks in the crowd do to pay the bills or kill time, I came to get lit-up by her comedy genius. Wish she told more interesting stories vs. Killing time with the dorks in the crowd.
