About

WICKED, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle.  Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another girl, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”

With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” WICKED has been hailed by The New York Times as “the defining musical of the decade.” Time Magazine cheers, “if every musical had the brain, the heart, and the courage of WICKED, Broadway really would be a magical place.”

From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking moment, WICKED—the untold true story of the Witches of Oz—transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story. It will send your spirits soaring to heights you’ll never forget.

  • Brilliant!!!

by AndF on 2013-04-16Rochester Auditorium Theatre - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Story held my interest for whole time. Singing was emotional and powerful. The tie-in to the Wizard of Oz was incredible without taking anything away from it.

The story. The costumes. The acting. The Music. The Singing. The Dancing. The humour. Perfection. From start to finish by far the most amazing thing I've ever seen. If I could I would see this everyday.

The Wicked set was a work of art in itself and what an awesome building at ASU Gammage. The musical was so professionally done, we had a few fill ins for a couple of the main characters and you would not have known. The costumes were intricate and so fun. Young and old alike would enjoy this production.

  • Wickedly incredible

This is probably the best "road show" that I have seen. I am a theatergoer, and this production of Wicked is at least as good as anything I have seen on Broadway. The voices are magnificent, the staging incredible, and the entire experience and enjoyment far beyond expectations. The standing ovation was indeed well deserved!!!!!

  • Wicked was not 'wicked' but it was alright

    by BG1234 on 2012-01-02Detroit Opera House - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

The play itself was good. The leads were well cast and the story was fun but the songs are anything but catchy or well written. The theatre is old and the hallways are tight and although the neighbourhood is safer than most of Detroit there isn't much else to do in that area. Parking for the event was $20 at the parking garage - which is very steep for parking. We made sure to get out during the final bows because that large of a crowd exiting at the same time and almost everyone heading to the parking garage would have meant spending an extra half hour exiting.

This was one of the most enjoyable broadway musicals I've ever seen. Not knowing what to expect but knowing the Wizard of Oz I was absolutely delighted. Would highly recommend to everyone!

    by JanJan64 on 2010-09-21Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

My friends and I enjoyed the performance thoroughly. From opening curtain to the final curtain it was fantastic. The actors and the singing were fabulous. After the performance i wanted to see the movie again. The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies of all time. Bravo! We travelled from Winnipeg to see the performance. This is my second time at the Orpheum Theatre. It is such a beautful theatre. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

  • 'Wicked' is WICKED.

by pegger on 2010-09-14Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Wicked in Minneapolis was AMAZING! I saw a Sunday matinee with the standby for Elphaba (Anne Brummel in place of Vicki Noon); in the past I have been disappointed to see an understudy in a lead role, but Anne was phenomenal!!!! There are not enough positive things I can say! Beyond Anne, the entire cast was bang on (especially Glinda!! Natalie Daradich is AWESOME!!). This is perhaps the best show I have seen!

  • Wicked was an amazing performance!

by GoofyRob on 2010-09-11Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The touring production of Wicked! was every bit as amazing as on Broadway! The cast is wonder-ful and can really belt out those tunes we all love. This production will change you for good! In this performance, Billy Harrigan Tighe played Fiyero and gave an outstanding performance. You would not have guessed he was the understudy.
