I went to both days of Winterfest and I had an amazing time! So many fun activities to choose from. So many opportunities to interact with players, prospects, alumni, coaches, the manager and front office staff. I got lots of autographs and pictures with guys, and everyone was so pleasant and friendly to interact with. It made me feel like I matter to the Jays. I came home very happy, both days.
There is, however, one way that the experience could have been even better. I had autograph sessions on both days. Day one, one of my groups had Vlad Guerrero jr in it. Excellent! Day two, one of my groups was this exact same group. Respectfully I don't see the need to visit the same group of guys, two days in a row. I didn't use the second session, it just went to waste. Instead I lined up for some great pictures which I'm really happy that I did.
I'm sure there are ways, using computer technology, to make sure that fans aren't assigned the same group two days in a row. Also, I asked twice if I could switch to the other group in that time slot, the one with Matt Shoemaker and other guys. With all respect to Shoemaker, I'm guessing there is at least one fan who got his group who would have been over the moon to trade with me for the Vlad group, and two fans would have been that much happier. I don't understand why this wasn't allowed.
I would have given 4 1/2 stars if I could have. Great job overall, Blue Jays. Hopefully there can be improvements in the way I suggested in future years to make it a 5 out of 5.
