    Loud

Great energy and tight band - a bit loud though. My ears are still ringing 5 days later...

    Wolfmother was superb

by Humpfree on 2009-11-15Kool Haus - Toronto

I came to see the show with low expectations. I didn't think the lead singer could duplicate his abilities live, as I have never heard anyone sing so amazingly high before. His recorded vocals were powerful and with great range. I was expecting less than this from the band. However, I was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong, the quality of the vocals was truly amazing, what a great voice. I really liked the genre of the music, a sort of heavy alt rock. In my opinion, the band is influenced heavily by the following: Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, White Stripes and Oasis. They played many songs from both of their albums, including Woman, Joker and the Thief, Unicorn, 10,000 feet, California Queen, New Moon Rising. They played the songs brilliantly, and the quality of the music was better than the recorded music. I will be seeing these guys again if they come back.

Wolfmother was good but not enough

by trnew on 2009-11-13Kool Haus - Toronto

They were loud and energetic and obviously played their hits. However, hey didn't play very long...only an hour in before the encore. Starting after 11pm was a bit late if only because the opening bands were crap. With two albums and the ability to cover others, why not start a little earlier and play longer. Cover some Zep or Sabbath...they kind of do anyway. The venue is good. The new guys were okay but surprised the additional guitarist doesn't really add much. I miss the original keyboard player...he was better. Overall okay but I saw them last year (as a threesome) and they were better then. Perhaps the new album's songs and member don't cut it live the same way.

    Wolfmother are the real deal

by mctaser on 2009-11-12Kool Haus - Toronto

Raw, raunchy, energetic and LOUD!!! This is a throwback to the 70's and 80's but with a new edge. They reminded me of garage bands of my youth, but with great songs! Kool Haus was a good venue to see a band like this, great fun. Their supporting acts were good as well - Heartless Bastards were full of energy and rocked the place, while Thenewno2 were an eclectic mix of sounds - very interesting indeed.

    Wolfmother

by Unclegigi on 2009-11-12Kool Haus - Toronto

Great, great, great!! These Aussies can really put on a show. I have been waiting for them to come back, and the wait was well worth it. First time being at the Kool Haus, good location, parking close by and sound was really good.

    WOLFMOTHER!! Brilliant!!!!

by MartyMayhem on 2009-11-12Kool Haus - Toronto

This band destined for great heights in the future. I've been to a great many live acts in the last 25 years (at least 200 different bands) and Wolfmother is up there with the best. Musical genius, "Nuclear" energy and yet humble. Don't ever miss the chance to see this band. May they have a long Rockin' carreer.

    Meh...

by Google on 2009-11-12Kool Haus - Toronto

I love Wolfmother, but the show last night was just ok. They screwed up a few times, so it wasn't exactly smooth. I was kind of surprised that tickets were still available on Ticketmaster the day of the concert in such a small venue, but it makes sense now - Wolfmother have not perfected their live performances. They sound great on CD and have amazing songs, but a band that is really good always has a very solid sound live, making the experience more enjoyable than listening to a CD. I didn't feel this was true for Wolfmother. Also, the people in the middle center were really stupid and annoying. Crowd surfing, jumping, and pumping your fist in the air to the music is all good and cool (it is a rock concert...), but the constant pushing and grabbing was uncalled for. I was nearly knocked over on several occasions, so I left the middle, because how can you enjoy the music while constantly being thrown around. The people on the outside were much more mature, so I just chilled there and enjoyed the rest of the concert being able to actually stand in one spot. Overall, it was just an ok show and I'll most likely give Wolfmother another chance if they are in town again, but for now, I'll stick to listening to their CDs.

    Wolfmother KILLED IT

    by 4EVERROCK on 2009-11-12Kool Haus - Toronto

There's no other way to explain it. Naysayers about their new album, give it a rest. They haven't lost nothin' with the new members in Ian Peres and Dave Atkins. The whole band lit it up in the City of Toronto, the crowd was pumping...Song selection was perfect...Old and New stuff Geled great. "10,000 feet" is etched in my mind forever. These guys took over that stage and KILLED IT! The crowd was weak before they come on, I mean no one even has an inch blood flowing through their veins. But that doesn't stop me from saying Heartless Bastards were an outstanding opening Act for Wolfmother. The crowd was full of a bit too many first tymers in my opinion and they didn't know rocking was until the real heros came in to uplift the Crowd. But I really enjoyed the vocals for H.B. Nothing spectacular about Dhani Harrison's band. Don't really think they've found an identity yet but they have the talent to do so and be pretty good. But Harrison's vocals does not fit with the bands personality at this point! Can't miss this for a lifetime. Andrew Stockdale at his finest folks!

    Wolfmother ROCKED!

by Lucifer on 2009-11-12Kool Haus - Toronto

With the exception of a few technical incidents that briefly interrupted their momentum, the band put on a solid performance.
