  • Guys were solid, sound guys not so much.

by Boxroxy on 2014-08-05Edmonton EXPO Centre - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

Wu in my hometown!?!? Hell yah I was going. It was amazing guys energy on stage was great! The sound sucked. The venue itself isn't great for sound but one guys mic didn't work all night even when he was the only one rapping!! There was feedback and people cutting in and out. But professionals the band killed it and kept the audience hype and into it. Venue needs to correct their situation though.

  • Garbage!

by evoLwon on 2014-08-05Edmonton EXPO Centre - EdmontonRating: 1 out of 5

I purchased the VIP ticket for $150 I get into the VIP while the DJ is still spinning, the VIP section was just big enough for you to buy booze with the line. While in the line the cash register shuts down due to some issue. I look around and I notice that there is a lineup to get into the VIP. The lines in the VIP were just as big as the lines outside the VIP. Once I got my beer the concert Had just started. After listening to a few songs I went back to get more beer and VIP was then closed, waste of the extra $70 if not more. That was just the beginning. The sound check was way off! They never fixed the issue! Inspectah decks mic never worked the whole show! Method man and Raekwon never showed up which sucked! Even the set sucked! Playing half songs and the show wasent that long. There was no opening act. OVERALL this concert was TRASH!!

  • 20 years and the Wu are still deadly!!

by Mendoza on 2014-01-27Kool Haus - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

There were a few hiccups in this show, as there usually are at rap shows. First of all they took a long time to come on stage (no surprise). Secondly, RZA was a no-show which was disappointing. Third, Meth & Ghostface piggy backed the show with decent support from Raekwon & GZA. The rest of the Clan were a little rusty. Despite all this it was amazing to see them all together on stage! If RZA had of been there, 5 stars for sure!

I was very un impressed with this show. This was a reunion show that I had payed almost $100 for the ticket and all the members weren't even present. The show was done sloppy with lighting, opening acts, bartenders, and the main event wasn't even what was promised attendance wise on top of the fact of the 45 minute wait for the whole crew to come on stage. Mics of some of the group were not working and I feel the sound wasn't managed properly (bass over powering highs). In my opinion this show was not worth the money and I would want a refund for the purchase.

It took a while but the boys finally came out minus RZA & Masta Killa. After a few songs, Method Man hit the stage and brought a lot of energy. Ghostface's mic wasn't working for the first half of the show which was a travesty. All in all a good show. Could have done without the openers.

Felt like I was back into the 90s! Concert was amazing. However VIP experience wasn't worth the money could have just bought general admission.

  • Way too late

    by Shabazz5th on 2013-12-02Kool Haus - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Like most who attended the show, I'm a HUGE wutang fan. And I've never seen them live. They were an hour and a half late to get on stage. The dj just kept saying "5 more minutes" over and over again and trying to get a pop from the crowd in regards to "who Ioves weed in Toronto!!!" Looking for cheap pops to get us to forget that it's almost 1am and still no wu. Most of the guys were there: Gza Deck Ugod Meth Ghost Rae Rza was no where to be seen, which was disappointing. On to the positive. The set was amazing and method really knew how to put on a show. For a 43 year old he was moving non stop, crowd surfing, and just keeping the energy going. Bottom line. I've seen them and that was great. But I wouldn't watch them again.

$100 for an incomplete wu tang clan, (no rza). Show started almost 2 hours late. Sound was horrible, ghostfaces mic didnt work, opening dj was garbage. Performance except for method man was lackluster.

No RZA. They showed up 2 hours late. And the opening act sucked. GARBAGE!!!

  • 20 yr wait to be disappointed

by battlesausage on 2013-12-01Kool Haus - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

One of the worst hip hop shows I went to!!!!! I'm a huge fan of Wu tang and been dying to see them live, finally get the chance and I wish I never went! They took 2 hrs to come out on stage, they promoted all of them were there yet masta killa and rza were no shows ( masta killa not showing didn't bother me but RZA!) The show was more method man and friends, and method man did bring the energy as to the rest of them they pretty much stood there, it also didn't seem like they did a sound check before the show because ghost face and GZA mic both weren't working, at times u couldn't tell wat song they were playing because the sound equipment sounded like garbage. I left the concert bout 3/4 the way through because of all this, way to Butcher the 36 chamber album, would of had a better time listening to the album in the car out front of the venue

Minus some key members, nevertheless this was a solid performance by an iconic group. Meth's energy was amazing, although there was too large a gap between Peter Jackson and Wu. The event was marred by a couple of issues. First, uncharacteristically atrocious audio at Kool Haus. It was impossible to hear Ghostface for 4-5 entire tracks and that is inexcusable. The second is the crowd. It was split between people in their 30s+ who experienced Wu-Tang in real time so to speak, and younger suburban hipster kids. Many of the latter seemed to be universally smoking cigarettes and high on something other than what Meth has endorsed smoking, randomly falling, stumbling and pushing their way through the crowd.

  • Oversold, terrible sound

by Donmega on 2013-12-01Kool Haus - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Wu tang didn't come on until 11:45 when doors were at 8. Promoter/rapper Peter Jackson did his own set and set the tone for how disdapointing the rest of the night was going to be. The venue was drastically oversold, lots of people smoking cigarettes, passing out, no security. Half of wu tang clans microphones didn't work, no RZA. For something that was supposed to be a big deal it was extremely amateur.
