About

The WWE is the world's largest wrestling promotion corporation. Founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in 1953 as Capitol Wrestling Corporation, the organization now hosts more than 500 events per year across the globe. In 1982, McMahon’s grandson Vincent K. McMahon bought Capitol Wrestling and was fundamental to turning the WWE into a widespread and enduring sports entertainment product.

Initially, McMahon built up the WWE roster with future superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper and Jesse Ventura and launched the organization’s annual marquee event, WrestleMania, in 1985. Over the years, WrestleMania has offered plenty of unforgettable moments like the Hulk Hogan-André the Giant championship match in 1987, the generation-shifting face-off between Bret Hart and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in 1997 and The Undertaker’s 21-year winning streak at the event. The WWE will celebrate the 40th annual WrestleMania in 2024.

By the late ’80s and early ’90s, there was a full roster of hardcore brawlers, including Shawn Michaels, Hart, Ric Flair and "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who were later joined by a new crop of “Attitude Era” stars such as Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H and Mankind as the organization grew into a touring juggernaut. Another infusion of talent joined the WWE during the late aughts and early ’10s, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.

The WWE continued to reinvent itself as it created the separate Raw and SmackDown brands in 2002, launched various offshoot brands including the ECW and WWE NXT and introduced a 24/7 streaming network in 2014. The companies behind the WWE and mixed-martial arts promoter Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) merged into TKO Group Holdings in 2023.

This is for the venue not event!

by JKX on 2024-01-08Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Smackdown in Vancouver, fantastic. But being row one of the lower bowl and at the aisle with a small kid, maybe in the future you give wristbands to floor seats instead of checking everyone's phones every single time, blocking our view every 2 minutes. Also when it comes to drinks on the floor, why not just pour them into cups when they are bought again instead of blocking our view while people have to stand there pouring out the drinks from a can to a cup. My 6 year old and I spent most of the night watching the jumbo Tron above us.. Not thrilled about this whatsoever.

Although very entertaining, the seating was lousy.

by Raj on 2024-01-08Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Amazing entertaining. Better than what i was expecting. The seating was uncomfortabke and too cramped up. Letting people pass/walk past on the row was just painful... had to keep standing up and miss the show.

    Worth it

by AS on 2024-01-08Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I got tickets for around $100. Though the event felt shorter in person, it was worth the money. It was my first Smackdown event and it exceeded expectations. Acknowledging the tribal chief in person was the highlight of the night lol.

Vancouver finally gets some live WWE love

by Bentencho on 2024-01-08Rogers Arena - Vancouver

For some reason this was only the second time in 20(!) years Smackdown... HAS COME BACK... to Vancouver. And it was amazing! My four friends and I had a blast seeing all the superstars live and the event was well run. Only complaints is sitting higher up in Section 307 Row 12 half of the view of the screen hanging above the ring was obstructed, and that really should have been disclosed when we were buying the tickets as that obviously impacted our experience. Also the Vancouver 3:16 t-shirt kept getting hyped on screen throughout the show but was sold out at the end. Probably should have printed more of the merch with the name of the city in it! Anyways hope to catch another one, hopefully it won't be another decade!

    Definitely room for improvement

by Bella on 2024-01-08Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Booked an aisle seat for my dad with mobility issues, unfortunatly that's not what we got so he missed out on most of the show... seats are sooo packed together we felt like we were sitting ontop of our neighbours. View was great though

    Great

by EMP on 2024-01-08Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Being that it was the first SmackDown in Vancouver after so long, good energy from the wrestlers, Great atmosphere and good energy from the crowd. Not enough WWE merchandise was available and the lines were ridiculous. I had to go to the line during the second match. The screens outside did not even show what was happening inside the ring while we waited in line so we missed most of it Better warning for hearing protection should have been emphasised when purchasing the tickets.

by Ryal on 2024-01-08Rogers Arena - Vancouver

When we got to the arena 2 of the 5 seats were changed because it’s a live event and cameras were added there but ticket master booth was great and relocated all of us because 3 of them were kids to middle ring seats with an excellent view !This was a Christmas present so it made for an even more amazing experience the kids

House shows from WWE are great

    by Wea92 on 2024-01-04Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

House shows from WWE are always a good time. You can see the wrestlers are having a good time because the rules are a little bit looser and they can just have fun and in turn makes us fans have a lot of fun as well

    Fun show

by David on 2024-01-04Place Bell - Laval

This was my son's first WWE live event and he enjoyed it a lot. We all did. Thanks to WWE for this great show and the opportunity to see 2 guys from Quebec in Samy Zayn and Kevin Owens.

The event itself was great, venue not so much.

by Chris on 2024-01-02Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

WWE Live Holiday Tour at Coca-Cola Coliseum was a great event, the venue itself could be better. Missed two matches due to excessively long washroom line ups, there really should be more washrooms in this venue, everybody was complaining about it. Also, beer prices were absurd, just ridiculous. $18 for one beer? Come on, theres no reason for that. Venue aside, WWE put on a great event here.

    Good show

by joshm on 2024-01-02Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

had pretty decent seats the show was great was hard for my kids to see for most of it though due to adults are standing 80% of show. The drinks are wayy over priced but sadly to say is expected.
